now he is intent on laying waste to the Ukraine cause havoc and destruction bomb em back to the Stone Age (?) Putin gives not a jot about civilian casualties

threatening Finland and Sweden with consequences if they dare to join nato

threatening nuclear war

China are pushing the Russian narrative in there internal reporting of the conflict

Supply offensive weapons to the Ukraine ( missile systems)

appease this fruit cake Putin and we will be back to the same scenario in the future

threat of chemical weapons ???
If used wipe out his entire army in the Ukraine nato have the fire power

attack his side kick in Syria as well
 
Ok it's a parallel universe, however I wonder what Putin would have done had NATO deployed 1000's of well equipped troops to the border and aircraft to the Ukraine region ready for rapid deployment. Do you reckon he would have ramped things up e.g. nuclear weapon wise, or do you reckon he'd have backed down?

If Ukraine had some offensive abilities, , say some missiles capable of reaching Moscow, he wouldn't have invaded.
Why shouldn't they have those?
Seems to me Pootin wants the freedom to invade whenever he likes. Security my arshe, it's domination he wants.

Putin is a power crazed nutter. It is impossible to predict how a nutter might react to a perceived threat.

I don't beleive he would have but would have been so insulted that a nuke strike/s eventually and even now there is a chance of a massive misunderstand with all of those war games led by the uk

Ukraine had nukes after the breakup of the Soviet Union but gave them up, along with Belarus and Khazakhstan, after joining the Treaty on Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons in 1994. Ironically it was on the back of a signed agreement on security assurances provided by the US, Britain and guess who?
