Someone is trying to start a war in the Ukraine, It's NOT Russia (edit: yes it is)

It seems as of today, they are pulling some troops back. Maybe this was all a test to see if anyone would notice.

No, it's the fear of Russian encroachment that terrifies the nations of Eastern Europe that spent 45 years or more as vassal states of the Soviet Empire, which Putin now seeks to recreate.
dont talk nonsense if he was going to create it he would have just steam rollered over them and not stopped going . Not people saying oh its going to be tomorrow oh no its going to be saturday , nope its going to be a week tuesday oh hang on maybe in 3 weeks time .

The war drums are just an interlude, useful in making the transition from the virus threat to the climate threat. Maybe Doris was smelling a Ukrainian immigrant opportunity for the UK.

Vlad is a master of the game. He is laughing his arse off at the pi$$ weak, hysterical, confused, response of the west.

It is quite clear that Nato expansion is cause of the problem in UKraine.
When the Soviet Union dissolved and Russia withdrew back behind its own borders, there was an agreement that the former Soviet states would be unaligned and neutral.
There was supposed to be no further Nato expansion, after all why would would a defensive military alliance be required to defend against a threat that no longer existed.

dont talk nonsense

you don't deny that Putin has invaded parts of Ukraine and Georgia? And takes care to show that he can do it again?

You don't deny that Russians claim ownership of parts of Khazakstan?

Putin made his ambitions to annexe Ukraine clear in his article last year.

"During the recent Direct Line, when I was asked about Russian-Ukrainian relations, I said that Russians and Ukrainians were one people – a single whole."

https://www.atlanticcouncil.org/blo...ew-ukraine-essay-reflects-imperial-ambitions/

He does not consider Ukraine a sovereign nation with the right to self-determination.

He also lays claim to possession based on the concept of a common ancestral race.

"Russians, Ukrainians, and Belarusians are all descendants of Ancient Rus, which was the largest state in Europe."

Does this sound familiar? It should. What can you tell me about annexation of the Sudetenland? The Anschluss?

Interestingly, he also repeatedly mentions historic union with Lithuania. Which will send a shiver down the spines of the newly independent Baltic states.

@Vinty approves of this, because he longs for the day when a newly United Ireland absorbs the North back into its historic nationhood.

Ireland never was a single nation anymore than GB was a single nation.
Same applies in countries like Ukraine.

Russians have built field hospitals near the border ;)

They erect field hospitals in every major military exercise they conduct. A quick internet search reveals previous exercises pre and post 2014 where they are erected to serve the purpose of training personnel in a simulated war.

Some of these hospitals are hundreds of miles away from the border as well. If you reference the satellite imagery presented to us in the media (non-chronologically and at totally random points in time) to satellite imagery available online, you can find their true locations. This has also been reported in many news outlets and discussed in sub-Reddits discussing the current situation.

Not downplaying anything, just trying to offer context.

I agree - there are fears on both sides. But Russia's is much older and deep-seated. It goes back to Rus, the Vikings, and the Mongol invasions. The idea of the west extending into Ukraine dates only from the Polish/Ukraine Commonwealth, revived in the 20th century.

As I said, this is a non-event made up by the UK & USA and the pussy aka Putin fell into their trap.

People in Russia are now saying even more so that Putin is a donkey **** stain on the country and some of the Generals openly
criticised the Putin bloke.

The USA/ closely followed by the UK did their utmost best to stoke fear and stir **** based on the pussy Putins cyber attling and he has made himself look like a proper chicken rather than a fearless clown.

Nothing to see, please jog on
