Wrong again. They often have several citizenships as Filly mentioned. The best place for money is a tax haven. Dealing is an entirely different area.

A BBC reporter has been led through the front line. Plenty of signs of shelling due to previous fighting. No bangs. Someone sent a video to C4 showing a separatist shell explosion. It could easily be a fake as many similar from Syria where. Actually there seems to be use of mortars. Relatively short range stuff landing in derelict areas. That will only kill soldiers. I doubt if Russia would allow anything else at the moment.

The reason people at the top of the armed forces chain are raising concerns is they do not want to lose their lifestyles and freezes on banking, property etc and having to go to the front line has made them think 3 times.
Putin has not been seen in public for over two months as most people over there hate him and see him as a nasty bully but you can't please everyone I guess.

Anything can happen but some of your posts swing in direction. I am wonder with this one if you are talking to aliens or fairies at the bottom of your garden or if in a flat hear voices .

I gave you the benefit of the doubt, you wasted that. I won't post insults at you as I don't do it to people IRL so I won't do it here as I am no armchair warrior.

Angus Roxborough, former BBC man in Moscow: Sanctions are targetting the wrong group. The Kremlin/puppet parliament/upper civil service is a several (hundred?) thousand-strong group of corrupt, wealthy individuals, in hoc to Putin for their positions. Not billionaires, but very wealthy- the type who ski in Courchevel and Meribel and take security for their wives and girlfriends. They sail to Monaco in their yachts, and own minor palaces in London and Paris etc. They are NOT the ones minding Putin's dosh. THIS, he says, is the group to **** off by withdrawing visas and locking them inside Russia. I think he has a strong argument.
 
This war in Ukraine has been going on for 8 years with no sign of it ending anytime soon.
Maybe sometimes it takes a stronger power to intervene to bring some sort of resolution to a conflict.
The people of Ukraine must fed up being used as pawns in a power struggle between 2 power blocs.

I am surprised he didn't already have Israeli citizenship, seeing as he is Jewish and the Israelis guarantee citizenship to any jew anywhere in the world.
After all they gave Robert Maxwell the pension thief a state funeral, so oligarchs with a dodgy history shouldn't have a problem getting a passport.

Good post but IMO, its a mixture of billionaires who are Putin's cronies and the billionaires have their cronies just like any food chain.
 
Having just finsihed a chat with a cyber associate in Ukraine, he advised me as follows and IMO makes sense and the way I saw it too, IE I've always said Russia does not want a war and those in Crimea, Domas etc had a massive majoirty of pro Russian

  • Crimea. = vastly pro Russsian
  • Donetsk = As above
  • Luhansk = about 40% pro Russian
The above place are already under the control of pro Russian people, fact - all putin is doing is turning them into Russia again as they want

After the above, Russian support drops to about 20% on average in the other states so Putin won't want a battle/lose face as some of his soldiers are ready to go home.


The west lacks a spine as does the lame president in the usa and that is the little danger that putin may take the whole of, the remaining half of Dombas which incs Donetsk and Lanska
