the combi boiler explodes, and the plasterer dies

It is chargeable cos its 3rd party interference... ;)

A BG engineer if ever i saw one. Straight out the mouth of a lincolnshire SM!! lol

ah i see haha, technically i supose so.... but can anyone really make a boiler "explode"??? (-insert hilarious exploding boiler situation-) it's a bit of a cop-out really. i supose how he defines "explode" is quite important.

OP that was one of the funniest things I've ever read on here and you have got BG sussed and no mistake. These BG CPSs are so far up their own arze, they've not seen daylight for years!!

Thanks for the great laugh & if I covered Wigan, it would be a pleasure to give you a quote to replace your boiler.

God I wish I could write like that!!..............Very, very funny.........

Good luck mate & I hope you get the heat back on soon.

If you think OPs post was good, which it was by the way,i worked a fair few years ago for the water company, there was a sorry saga invloving a shared supply which was turned off leaving a certain woman without water,it carried on over the course of a weekend with road gangs out trying to run temp supplies.
Anyway it was a big cock up,the woman put in a well deserved complaint,in the form of a story which circulated all the offices,it was brilliant!!,it really could have made it on an to episode of Only Fools And Horses or something similar,it was that good.

It's a story of the 3 stoopids

Stupid man let's his stupid wife hire a stupid contractor
And something STUPID happens.

Then moans about a non involved 3rd? 4th?party

Much hilarity all round

It is possible to make some boilers explode by repeatedly pressing the reset button as it can sometimes cause a build up of gas mixture in the combustion chamber.

The OP does not seem to have told the truth! The heading clearly says the plasterer dies. The text does not say that.

In my view the plasterer should not have been interfering with a boiler when he is clearly not competent to operate it safely. During the previous 10 years the OP did not ever have it exploding.

I have given some advice on the phone to about four BG engineers over the last month and they were all quite polite.

Odd that some on here are not so polite though.

do u have any idea why their not polite??????BECAUSE everything thats written on this site slates avery bg engineer goin which we all know is complete bullshit!!!!!!some of the engineers at bg are probably bar far the best heating engineers in the country, lets not forget these engineers work repairing boilers day in day out and on different manufactured boilers as well,a contractor doesnt get that constant repair work like a bg engineer,as i say i havent got nething against the 2 and i would never slag off bg engineers cos ive been there and they've trained me up for what i know 2day,i left for own reasons etc.reading half the posts on here since ive joined is far from the truth as well i.e bg will do nething to get out of a job????if u follow the t&c's it clearly states wots covered and wot aint.....SIMPLE.rant over with

Anyway, the op's long gone by now.
Pity, 'cos I'm out in Wigan tonight having a few beers and thought I'd pop in.

some of the engineers at bg are probably bar far the best heating engineers in the country...................Tell me this is a joke?? How can you say that, for starters they are stuck with one fuel!!!

Our guys work with oil, gas, log gasification, Heat Pumps, LPG....etc etc
The BG CPSs are in love with themselves, had limited training & on the whole parts changers!! Lead by the nose by their laptop & just dance for the BG suits!!

I know this cause I've employed some, but only for a short time!!

Isn't it a bit naive to tar everyone with the same brush? There are good and bad engineers everywhere. BG do LPG too by the way.

we used to employ 2 ex bg engineers one is still with us and is one of our best engineers, the other was asked to leave he was sh#t without his laptop and orderd 3 parts to fix a boiler bacause one of them was faulty.i find the older long standing lads had better training and wernt fitters who throw parts at boilers untill one makes it work,i have a lot of respect for some of the BG lads some I wouldnt give sh~thouse room.my experience just like the rest of us theres good and bad unfortunately BG is not the reputable firm it once was my father started work with BG when he was 14 he said it all went tits up when it privatised I agree.
