The crumbustion chamber?

They must do some rabbiting and talk about a load of bull-droppings.
Look at the figures compared with General Discussion, and consider that the CC hasn't been going all that long.

That is some hot air for a group of 'specialists'
There must only be a certain amount of crap that you can talk about involving gas.

Some of the blokes in there are making 4 or 5 hundred a day just for
hoovering out a few old boilers. Shocking

I can tell you that us gasmen are all under tremendous stress.
Get it wrong and we could find ourselfs on a manslaughter charge (serious ****)!
That's why the public can't enter the CC and why we all deserve every penny that we earn!
servotech,

But many more people are electrocuted than die in a gas explosion. So why not a private part p forum?

For gasmen read:

Long distance coach drivers
Lorry drivers
Electricians
Traffic Control Officers
Firearms police
Armed Forces

Need I go on? But they don't all want separate forums because they are 'SPECIAL' tradesmen.

Because they know they are jumped up plumbers that have the world kidded they are in some way special.

servotech,

what an absolute lot of drivel....
glorified plumbers that still think they know what they are talking about, but cannot...

The problem with gas it that it's not just you and your family that's at risk when things go wrong. A gas explosion can and sometimes does take out your neighbours properties as well. Some people get a bit keen with d.i.y and think they can tackle anything. Problem is though they don't have a thorough enough knowledge and don't have the correct test equipment to check whether their d.i.y installation/repair is actually safe. As a result RGI's don't like giving out information to people who are potentially putting life's at risk.

When you work in the industry and see some of the dangerous d.i.y installations you'll understand why we aren't so blase about the information given out.

But what get's me is why you haven't developed your own incomprehensible (to the layman) language like solicitors, doctors, lawyers, electricians, creole artistes, teenagers and other professionals which means that you can converse openly, safely in the knowledge that only competent people will have a clue what you are on about :?:
