Shut it down. It is not & has not been for a very long time, a newspaper.

Shut it down like it's sister rag The News of the World was shut down.

Make it a victim of collateral damage like it made collateral damage of Huw Edwards.

Then shut down its puppet master Woopert Murdoch. All the collateral damage of a cluster bomb, just 'cos Woopert don't like the BBC.;

murdoch simply came to the conclusion that there is enough people around with an IQ lower than their shoe size to lap up his carp publications and TV channels to make him a fortune...

Sadly there are still enough idiots around to keep his empire going, and who have been brainwashed into believing that the destruction of the BBC is a good thing...

But his empire will eventually fail...

And the old git will be dead fairly soon anyway !

The Bun will have its legal team on high alert by the weekend.

In a sign of its growing defensiveness and nervousness, on Tuesday the Sun published a lengthy editorial stating the story was “squarely in the public interest” and insisted its reporting was always about “alleged abuse of power”.

One issue throughout the past five days is that the rest of the media were unable to independently verify most of the allegations and had to rely on the Sun’s reporting. The BBC also dedicated enormous resources to chasing the story, covering it across many of its bulletins.

Shortly before Edwards was named, one BBC journalist questioned whether a flawed story had been used as a battering ram for other pieces. They said: “We could get into a situation where there is a story in the Sun about a BBC presenter that is not what it was billed as at the beginning – and turns out to be not criminal. But it has set the hare racing to see what other people can find out about the presenter.”

But it is the Sun which is now facing serious questions – and a potential legal risk: Edwards has used his Twitter account to like a tweet suggesting the Sun could now “face the mother of all libel actions”.

I must admit I'm not following it closely, but there would be no Libel claim where the identity was unknown. Secondly, if the allegations are true, there is no Libel.

Funnily enough the daily scum seems to have gone on the defensive today...

It appears they are shifting the blame on to the parents...

"We have reported a story about two very concerned parents who made a complaint to the BBC about the behaviour of a presenter and the welfare of their child"

Partly the beebs fault...why should they be investigation anything they are not the po po are they. Should have just told the complainant that unless there was an criminal behaviour then there was nothing to do - report it to the police if they thought there was criminality.. It was just an internal HR matter, did he breach a contract clause.

Why has the BBC even got a special investigations unit ? why does it feel necessary to investigate anything, so what if their presented paid money to a girl for pics, its his money, her body. Why would the beeb and Huw have any responsibility for how that money is used by the woman.

What happens to the millions that buy weed, coke etc at the weekends, do all employers now have to take responsibility for how their employees spend their earned cash ?

Drugs are illegal
Many aren't. Alcohol, nicotine, codeine, co-codamol, tramadol ... all cause addiction and health problems

Anyway, while I agree that the Sun should be closed down, we do live in a free society with free speech etc. Most people want this too, and you can't have both free speech and closing down of "news" outlets.

Bringing your employer's reputation in to disrepute would be a potential breach of contract.

Whether only fans or not, he is a public figure and needs to avoid any kind of only fans or so called pay piggy activity

It's not all about the money, say the parents.
However...Cash-in-hand@TalkTV

The Guardian understands that an interview with the couple has been recorded and is being edited for broadcast on TalkTV, the sister station of the Sun. Sources said the parents have been offered a significant sum for this.

A source at News UK said the Sun had not made any financial payment to the couple but confirmed that TalkTV was speaking to them as part of a planned three-part documentary series. The television channel has a reputation for paying large sums of money to secure interviews.

No. I need it. It's the cheapest paper I can buy and throw away. I use it to date proof videos. I am quite disappointed the page 3 girls are gone.
