tip of the ice berg comment complain to the BBC
I have not disputed it, Why should I complain?

As I said, if you are looking for organised paedophiles look towards the white males. They are experts at depravity.

Goodness knows what you think of the word 'sick' now as used by kids!
You are confusing two different things.
That kids use the words in their own groups to mean different things is like a code, although obviously if everyone does it then that will be its new meaning. I still don't believe you think it would be a good idea if Huw Edwards read a report including "The Queen is wicked, innit".
Anyway, this is different than mistakes because people don't know what the words actually mean, like "racist" being used for crimes against, say, those of a different European country but still white.
This lessens the impact of the crimes which are genuinely racist. The same for paedophiles.

I think you spend far too much time on the little things that a lot of people don't find important. I honestly do!
That they don't find them important is part of the problem.
You were the one who commented when I mentioned the meaning of the word paedophile. Actually, no one else has.
If you think it unimportant please do not comment and reply.

I dare say you find important, and spend quite a lot of time doing, things which I consider a complete waste.

some bloke was talking on the Radio (4) about language

what he refered to as American isms blighting the English language . dunno if that has any thing to do with what u 2 are speaking about ?

but I thought I would mention it :)

We were working on a site many years ago

there was a polish fella working there he was a labourer come night watch man . His job in Poland was to dub english /US films into Polish

He spoke perfect English (?) but could not really understand people. Hence his temporary job on a building site . in an attempt to under stand better

for example the terms we use like "pull your socks up" "keep your eye on the ball" etc ect things like that ?????

Well, am sorry for (probably) thousands of people and myself having a difference of opinion to you and what I thought was a light-hearted debate. Mind you, it ceased to be that when you said my attitude was deplorable and irresponsible. Somewhat OTT.

I always thought you were more easy going and much more fun than this, it's been quite an eye opener!

afaik the term "step up to the plate" that we use to mean some thing like except more responsibilty ??

is a term from American Base ball when they go in to bat (I think )

(orgainised gangs)

The Catholic Church has been organised for nearly two thousand years.

"Cases of child sexual abuse by Catholic priests, nuns and members of religious orders, and subsequent cover-ups, in the 20th and 21st centuries have led to numerous allegations, investigations, trials and convictions. The abused include boys and girls, some as young as 3 years old, with the majority between the ages of 11 and 14.[1][2][3][4] The accusations began to receive wide publicity in the late 1980s. Many of these involve cases in which a figure was accused of abuse for decades; such allegations were frequently made by adults or older youths years after the abuse occurred. Cases have also been brought against members of the Catholic hierarchy who covered up sex abuse allegations and moved abusive priests to other parishes where abuse continued.[5][6] "

Jersey had a well-established state-funded childrens home.

"Two more "punishment rooms" were found at a former Jersey children's home at the centre of a major child abuse investigation, police have said.

The two secret underground chambers were found by forensic teams at Haut de la Garenne, the home where 100 people claim they were physically and sexually assaulted since the 1960s.

Search teams have already excavated two underground chambers there where shackles and a blood-spattered concrete bath were found beside a wooden beam bearing the haunting message "I've been bad 4 years and years"."
