****** to be obliterated from our history!

Last time I watched the film, I listened for the word and as far as I remember it's actually quite easy to to a "drop in" edit every time the name is used to "fix" the film so it wouldn't affect the enjoyment of the film.
And did you listen for the codeword to say that the Möhne dam was breached? That's not just about enjoyment of the film, but a part of history.

Now if I was a kraut, I might take great offence that some limey audience was enjoying seeing my dam being blown up. So who do I complain to about getting the dams blocked out from the film and my mind?

Mummy. That man said 'limey'.
A perfect parallel given the history of Americans grabbing Brits, hanging them from trees and then leaving a sign on the corpse saying Limey.

Stupid comparisons make your argument weaker, not stronger.

Thought limey was from navy days, though may have been used as described to differentiate from strange fruit.
It was, apparently the Americans found eating limes to avoid Scurvy amusing or odd.

Since it's a word with no serious connotations we treat it as a joke. Just like EFLimpudence think black people should with the N word.

They seem to do that amongst themselves. Is that racist?

I am merely pointing out that words are not racist.

Look what's openly on Google Maps for anyone to see.

Niger has only one G, though I agree about others ,if someone from Germany is German, someone from Afghanistan is Afghani, what is someone from Pakistan ?

My American friend with a Japanese mother was quite surprised that the Brits don't care if called Limey. Said it was amusing, like being called roast beef, I don't know anyone who got offended. Had a long discussion about how different people react to the same word. For example, calling someone a Jap in America is as bad as the N-word so she said and again, I had to explain that in the UK it's literally just a shortened word for Japan and no offence, afaik is ever intended. Words are as powerful as people make them.
