I don't get this it all - thwart what and how?

What is the Brexit you understand? A rocketship to the moon?

I think he means people like Johnson and Rees-Mogg, who obstructed every possible option.

Do you think all Tory mps supported Brexit.
Jeez arch brexiteer Steve Baker soon had his head turned when given a ministerial car along with the transport minister.

Enoch Powell said:
We must be mad, literally mad, as a nation to be permitting the annual inflow of some 50,000 dependents, who are for the most part the material of the future growth of the immigrant descended population. It is like watching a nation busily engaged in heaping up its own funeral pyre.

Nigel Farage said:
Ukip was strongly criticised for issuing campaign leaflets saying 29 million Bulgarians and Romanians would have the right to live, work and draw benefits in the UK from the start of the year.

Suella Braverman said:

Suella Braverman says ‘hurricane’ of migrants coming to the UK

Enoch was sacked from cabinet for his speech. (by a Tory PM)
Farage was proven wrong and ridiculed for his comments.
Suella Braverman has been applauded by the Tories.

Farage has stated that the tory party's finished and he doesn't want to be leader.

It's possible that he could lead a breakaway New (Old) Tory party though, with perhaps half of the MPs leaving to join him. That could get interesting.
I know it's a case of be careful what you wish for (depending on your political views) however it would be interesting to see how someone like Farage would handle being the leader of a major UK political party (and no, I'm not including UKIP when I say 'major') say in opposition. And more to the point, how he'd handle being PM.

My assertion is, when you're not actually responsible for delivering anything for the British public, it's relatively easy to say 'this should happen, that shouldn't happen, we should spend here but not there, we should cut taxes ...' blah blah blah.

When in power, as these people know perfectly well, it's not quite that straightforward.

Summary: regardless of leader, probably even regardless of party, we're fecked as a country probably for the foreseeable future.

To you, not the response you was looking for?

Has it not dawned on you yet that Brexit was a pack of lies and can never be delivered.

Brexit is like making the statement we will have an operating moon base in 5 years.

After 5 years you will say, well we were stopped at every opportunity but we still expect the moon base to be built.

After another 5 years (10 years in total if you are counting) We were foiled again and held back but we still want that moon base.

20 years later, well the moonbase was just aspirational but we can still get it done.

You haven't a clue what i think and said on here if that rubbish is the best you can come up with.

I'm pretty sure the tory party and most other people in the UK have moved on from Brexit.

DIYNot is the only place where anyone still goes on about it.

The divide in the tory party is between those who believe in the old principles of low tax and spending cuts, and those who seem to be in charge who are basically New Labour with no belief in anything in particular.

what You mean is: “Brexit supporters don’t want to talk about Brexit, because they know it’s sh1t”

brexit continues to damage British businesses and economy on a daily basis, of course we haven’t moved on”

It’s like telling a person with severe toothache to “move on”
