Small Modular Reactors. Small nuclear reactors built mainly offsite in modular form, About the size of a football pitch when finished and capable of supplying power to approx 1 million homes.
I realise that but there's a number of deals going on.
4 contenders competing for contracts in UK of which RR is one, the award could go to more than one company. Winner is expected to be announced in June.
there are only 4 SMRs operational in the world, in Russia and China
its a rapidly emerging technology, the Uk should be putting a ton of money into British businesses like RR to be at the forefront
If the contract goes to a foreign company esp China, I would nto be impressed at all.
Hinckley point C is a massive failure in my opinion -French construction with Chinese finance and decades of super expensive electricity -absolutely nuts.
Yes still in the development stage really, the appeal is they're quicker and cheaper to build than full size stations and because of size, less intrusive into the areas they're built.
With AI and servers requiring more and more power these are needed badly, and it's green tech.

Trump has been discussing giving compensation to the rioters who were imprisoned and who he pardoned.
At the same time, he is trying to get the civil compensation cases brought against him by the police officers who were injured in the riot thrown out.
I just found that rather ironic.

Trump says he hopes foreign carmakers raise prices as it means people will buy US-made cars.

Trump may not realise how much the prices of cars will go up in the US. Making cars is a global business, so even the iconic US brands import a large percentage of foreign parts. Tesla's is the lowest. figure.
T has asked US manufacturers - GM , Ford not to pass on the extra cost of the foreign content to US consumers. Yeah, right, sure.
Stellantis - Dodge and loads of others, looks to be Dutch, all very complicated.
BMWs, "made in America" import the engines, for example.
I would imagine that when the US makers see the prices of top end BMW etc cars go up, they'll put their own luxury models' prices up to match, partly paying for those tariffs lower down the range.
The Donald won't like it.
