There’s worse things than knocking down a statue of an old Slaver, the police’s actions saw off worse rioting and institutions have generally decided to keep cultural artefacts as appropriate like the Cecil Rhodes statue in Oxford. So a win win all round. Not quite the same as attacking the police and trying burn migrants and law abiding Muslims alive their respective places of sanctuary.
