Some of the Pyramids collapsed too. The evolution of the architecture over a few thousand years is quite interesting.

I read about it in a history book about Egyptian dynasties a few months ago.

Its also been pointed out by a geologist that the Egyptian pyramids were built where the geology of the local rock was not suitable for more conventional buildings. The quality of the stone at places such as Luxor and Karnak is sufficient to build pillars etc, but the quality of the stone for the pyramids limited what they could do with it.

That's an old article, even referencing 2014 "sightings". And still, 11 years after that there is nothing more than some claims with no evidence.
