Then you get education and empowerment of women, (and availability of contraception). So the power in decisions about birth rate start to move to educated empowered women, with access to contraception. So population growth slows, eventually stops, and then goes into a slow population decrease.

This has been happening for a long time in UK. Educated types and higher social classes having fewer children, but underclass and recent immigrants still producing lots of kids - aided by state handouts. Middle classes can't afford big families any more. All this results in the decline we're seeing as the wrong sort of people churn out more underclass to be supported by the state one way or another. Rise in crime is another consequence.

Crime is falling, poverty is not the same as immorality, and middle class people ie; people with more money have (unsurprisingly) more money!

Birth rate dropped during the pandemic between largely due to lockdowns and then there was partially offsetting rebound.

Birth rate is 1.6 but over 2 with imagination so population is still growing.
Don't know how accurate that is as I can't fact check it properly.
