Vaillant Boiler Clicking

I have just spoken to an electrician and he said there should always be a permanent live to power the boiler, is this correct or should I go with the Vaillant specialist who said there shouldn’t be a switch live not a permanent live?

thanks

sadly dont ask an electrician, you have misunderstood what the vaillant lad said , he said you have a permanent live on the switched live terminal, meaning usually a sticking end switch on one of your zone valves , your Hive does not directly tell the boiler to come on, the Hive tells the zone valves when to open, the zone valves in turn tell the boiler when to come on

Ah right. Yeh it was all abit scientific to be honest, I just asked in a nutshell what to do and be mentioned swap the permanent live to a switch live.

Who would you say is best to contact as I really don’t know where to go from here?

You'd be better with a local plumbing, heating or gas engineer who is competent (not all are) in electrics as well, and who is able to diagnose a zone valve issue. If this issue has been since the boiler was fitted, then it's possibly a wiring fault having a permanent live on the thermostat connection.

So this problem has existed since installation? How has it not been resolved sooner?
