Over the years I've seen a few times a pushbike rider/s attach a car/van then ride off into the sunset.

Blimey, that's some pedal power!
I don't suggest any cyclists try it. They might find themselves backpedalling, in the very real sense of the word.

I'm having second thoughts about my earlier comment. The Humanitarian's suggestion could be the real, world-beating answer to climate change, fuel economy, accident rates, etc.
Imagine cyclists towing a car along, instead of selfishly pedalling along minding their own business.
