WARNING = Highway Code Changes - A disaster in the making

I can't see that going very far soon. For the car to be autonomous it would be like those T5 car park pods, with the user having no input to the driving. Most self driving car technology relies on the driver setting some of the controls. There could be cases of driverless vehicles being classified this way. I imagine Elon Musk, will have a few Notice of intended prosecutions, when the keeper responds to sec 172 demands.

I wonder how 'driverless technology' will cope with working out the thoughts and intentions of random pedestrians?

It probably will not, it will just plough on regardless, unless they get in the way - then there will be a scream of brakes.

Yesterday when out for a walk I noted twice pushbike riders riding smack bang in the middle of the road with a smirk on its face. Both times they had those cctv cameras on top of their head. What they did not have was any lights, hi-vis clothing or identification. So they report drivers that they've managed to wind up into doing something against the law but I guess when they jump red lights, ride on the pavement, nearly knock someone over on a crossing, the cctv footage gets deleted.

Over the years I've seen a few times a pushbike rider/s attach a car/van then ride off into the sunset.

Not all pushbike riders break the law but there are plenty of them out there just like plenty of idiot car drivers.

Blimey, that's some pedal power!
I don't suggest any cyclists try it. They might find themselves backpedalling, in the very real sense of the word.

I cycled to work for a short time, urban cycling, dpd and delivery drivers were worst with their tight timescales for delivery, they're half way across the junction before looking. Trades in vans are probably the most courteous of drivers.

Cyclists become annoying when you get back to driving, just different perspectives.

Blup
