I think there will be some sort of disruption, but not as big as many predict. And for me, the consequences of not prosecuting Trump for the attempted coup, far outweigh the consequences of doing so. I also believe his actions with the classified documents should not be allowed to be normalised. The NY case does now seem to be a bit of a distraction, though.
The words 'coup' and 'insurrection' are maybe being overplayed. Questioning the results of the election?, that's not a crime and not an indictable offence, that's how it will play out, he won't be convicted, he won't go to prison.
Is he a bit of a bad boy?, probably, but like Boris, he had something about him and he 'got things done'.
Could a senile dementia sufferer who ****s himself beat him?, possibly, we'll have to wait and see.

Trying to get the officials in charge to change the results is very much an offence.
Eating cake is not an offence. Doing so at a birthday party during lockdown, and not observing the regulations was an offence.
...and lying about it afterwards will get you thrown out of Parliament.
