What are you drinking tonight?

A bottle and a bit of £4.50 Sainsbury’s house Pinot Noir with my venison. I bought two bottles this week so we'll finish the rest of the other bottle with our Sunday lunch tomorrow. I must say, it possibly wasn’t as good as I remember the £7.50 bottle was that I bought last week. I need to check them both side by side.;)

I’ve never been much of a beer drinker but about 15/20 years ago I went to a car club meeting at the Halfway house on the A127. As I was driving, I asked for a pint of 'low alcohol' beer. They gave me Kronenburg 1664. I'd never had it before and it tasted fine to me, in fact I felt a little bit tipsy. When I went to buy another pint, I said to the **** behind the bar "Are you sure this is low alcohol?" He asked someone else and they said it wasn’t low alcohol, it was NO alcohol so I had another pint. And another. I drove home ****ed! It wasn’t till the next day when I mentioned it to a young lad that I worked with and he told me it was strong stuff that I realised why I felt ****ed. Would have been no defence if I’d been nicked. I phoned the pub manager up, described those that sold me it and did my ****ing nut. He apologised but that’s about all I could do. ****ing idiots.

I've drank a lot, regularly, but not to get pizzed; I just like the taste of what I drink.
If all there was was Carling and budweiser , I'd be teetotal.

Give the ones I've recommended a try, you might be pleasantly surprised.

WTAF?

So lets get this straight you had a beer, felt TIPSY, then said 'areeeee you sure theesis isss low alcohol im drinkinin?(you ****)' :D then bought a few more? You honestly never checked the alcohol content on a bottle? That's been like reading the stats from top trump cards as a kid, it's something from an early age i was aware of!?

Jeepers

You honestly never checked the alcohol content on a bottle?
It was a draft beer from the other end of the bar. If someone serving you beer assures you it is low/no alcohol you assume they would know what they are serving you.

Are they obliged to put the alcoholic content on the beer tap labels?
It's certainly a practice I've seen regularly.
I'd have slept in the car. (It wouldn't be the first time.)

Are they obliged to put the alcoholic content on the beer tap labels?
Possibly but we were in a 'snug' with just a little counter and the draft beers were all in another area of the bar which is why I asked for a low alcohol beer. It didn’t hit me fully until I’d been home for a while but would have definitely failed a breath/blood alcohol test on the 10 minute drive home.

But want we all want to know is...................................did Mrs Mottie take advantage of you when you got home?
