*snigger*

BMW make some decent engines, always have done. Peugeot in my opinion have always led the field with diesels.

VW, nah.

Has any one looked under the bonnet of a modern day car lately

Yes exactly

Chevtolet have probably sold more crate engines than all other manufacturer put together

If you have a degree in automotive elect

ronics
With all the sensors computer caper codes than yes u may well fit an audi v8 in a cobra
It's been done

But I will go with simplicity ;)

Ford or chevy from across the pond

Germany and France across the Atlantic?
I'd better cancel that ferry ticket. They told me it was a few hours crossing.

Yes I'm not sure either why Nosy suddenly drew America into the debate when we were debating Audi BMW and Peugeot.
Although VW certainly do manufacture engines 'across the atlantic' and BMW have been considering it.

Learnt that Rolls Royce gets paid by the number of hours that their airline engines run...

I personally think PSA make the best Diesels.

But the 1.9 VAG SDI unit is a very tough unit. I have seen one example in a private hire taxi that has done 800K.

I think the older designs with fewer bells and whistles and less to go wrong are the best.

They're also not fussy about what you feed them.
