As a kid I thought it strange how the bible told the same bit of story about Jesus at the same time every year, initially leading me to believe he did all that stuff in a year. The mind of a child. Then I grew up a saw that orgnised religion wasn't for me. Then recently the Wife saw fit to have the Boy Christened, and so the rev. came around, and I was once again in a church being told about cannibals.

But the whole episode got me thinking - and I know there are some Christian people on here who might jump at the chance to answer, but also interested to know the thoughts of anyone who cares to get involved with the chat.

What happened to Jesus the second time around? Born 25th Dec, died some years later on a Friday, came alive again two days later and given that he's not around today in the same sense as he was when the bible was written, what happened to Jesus and why is this part of the story not told? Perhaps it is, I just didn't listen. I mean, did he make a few more dining tables and wardrobes for the neighbours then die of an infection from a spinter or what?

Interesting question. And how come the Romans didn't spot him the second time around and nail him up again? Or were they like "leave 'im bro, he's had enough"?

I thought he went to heaven forty days later to be with his Dad to help look over - but ignore - us.

Presumably he was a fugitive in hiding during the forty days.

For forty days he kept a low profile then disapeared into thin air?! Pooof, gone! No surprise if none of his friends wrote any letters about it then!

So we are wondering about what happened to a fictitious character?
Come now, Dawkins had to admit he was wrong when he said jesus never existed. There's no question that he existed he's an historical character.

As an example Proof has been found that Pontious Pilot was real ........

Are we talking here of a Jesus who was resurrected, or a Jesus, around which a work of fiction was created.

You said what happened to a fictitious character ....what did you mean ? You tell me.

Many years ago a friend gave me a book to read " Gods Truth, Why a scientist believes the bible "

I remember reading a question it posed " when the disciples said that jesus was resurrected from the dead how do we know they weren't lying ?"

I couldnt answer that, when I read his answer, I had to agree with his reasoning. No option really.

By the way http://www.bbc.co.uk/religion/0/20617780 Christmas is saturnalia! !!!!

Christmas is as much to do with Jesus as a vegatarian has to do with a Sunday roast !
