What have you been doing today?

Well, I'm 99.9% sure I'll be going now. The figures are looking better in Andalusia than the UK at the moment plus I had my Covid booster last week. Oh, and I'm not paying until I get there. :)
Anyone going to Andalusia might be interested in this.

Had to go over to West London today and I saw a weird thing on the Hammersmith and City line. On that line, the carriages are fully open from the front to the back and there are no doors in between them. I was roughly in the middle of the train. Coming up from the front was a religious nutter trying to force a bible on to others, waving some pieces of white cotton (?) and trying to get everyone he passed to go to church or some such rubbish. Coming from the rear was a beggar girl and she was asking each and every person on the train for money. They happened to pass each other quite near to me and what I found funny was that the only person the nutter didn't try to engage with was the beggar. Similarity, the only person she didn't ask for money was the religious nutter. I think their paths must cross on a daily basis.

Called at a neighbour's this morning to swap a couple of light fittings, after a couple of rings he appeared at the door puffing & panting, let me in and had to go for a sit down, could hardly speak, turned out he was chopping a tree down (with a rusty panel saw) , when he had recovered, he told me he was waiting for an op to replace a heart valve, I think rest and gentle exercise might have been his consultants advice, not amateur lumberjacking.

When I take the house dog for a walk I have always pretty much let her decide where & how far we go. There's a few points where she decides if it's left for another mile, straight on for a 3 mile'r or right for home, chicken treat & a warm comfy basket.

Now that she's getting on a bit our walks are definately getting shorter. This afternoon she surprised me with a 5 mile'r but really slowed & struggled the last mile.

Problem is, so did I.

She aint' got long left & I'll have to have another dog, which will be much younger, fitter & wanting lots of those 5 miler's.

Started painting my downstairs bog today. Mrs Mottie bought some paint called 'Timeless'. I can't see the difference between that and the ivory cream that was already on it so I named it 'Pointless'. Given it two coats anyway so just have to do the woodwork tomorrow, fit up the new blinds, toilet seat and mirror and it's job done.

Took my mum up the pharmacy for her covid booster and flu jab.

Wiring up a heating system in a church & adjoining hall, the warden let me in and opened everything up, by this time I was busting for a poo, no worries I will nip into the hall & use the facilities when he has gone, not so fast, about 30 women marched in for fat club, I would have to walk right through the middle to get to the loo, then back again. So as Jim Royle used to say I baked it, poking around the church looking for thermostats, I went in the vestry and opened a door and behold the vicars private en suite, God bless

Perhaps this should be in the 'Best Photo' section but I saw this bloke who appears to have soiled himself buying a ticket at the window at Upminster station in my way home today. Sod sitting next to him and pity the poor sod that sits on the seat after him!

eeeugghhh gross, we were in New York using the subway, Mrs CB sat in a wet patch, back to the hotel, shower, & laundry off to the in house service

Just finishing up the downstairs bog that's had a freshen up. Walls and woodwork painted. New mirror. New blinds. New so-called top o' the range bog seat and............it's useless! I paid fifty bloody quid for this piece of crap (pardon the pun) and it's one of those seats that won't stay up even when it's gone past the vertical. No good for blokes at all. It's going back and I'll get something cheaper. Sometimes you don't get the best by spending the most.
