What have you been doing today?

Just got back from a trip to the vets. Our Susie has been unable to put her paw down since yesterday morning so I’ve been bringing her food and drink to her in her bed and carrying her outside and supporting her while she does her business then carrying her back to her bed. Had to carry her to the car and into the vets this morning as she still couldn’t weight bear on that paw. He could see nothing in her paw even after shaving it and has prescribed anti-inflamatories. He did say she could have been stung. After he'd seen her, a miraculous recovery happened and she practically pulled me back to the car! That visit cost me £77. I think I’m the one that’s been stung!

Yeah, mrs Mottie is hot on checking her paws for grass seeds after every walk but if it is a seed, it could have come from our garden as that has all dried up. She noticed a very slight limp on Saturday night and gave her a thorough check over, found nothing and we though she might have sprained her shoulder as she has done that a few times in the past but by the following morning she was lame on that paw. Vet said if no improvement she would have to come back, be sedated for an in-depth search which could include opening up the swollen pad to have a rummage around. Fingers crossed it doesn’t come to that.
 
Drove across to Barmouth with the missus for our annual pilgrimage. Managed the whole journey without incident. :cool:

It kept threatening to rain but didn’t so I popped over the plot to do a bit of selective watering. Not long after getting there it lashed down hard for about 15 minutes. It was great, sitting in my hut watching the rain come down. It was when it was at its heaviest that I realised I’d left all the windows in my car open so I got a nice soaking when shutting them!

Moving some exam desks back in to storage and was pulling the rack into the lift when it suddenly veered to one side. In doing so it trapped my hand between the rack and lift door. I said to my self, "H'mm, that was silly. You do know it's going to hurt a little?"
But somehow it came out as, "****! You illegitimate person! That ****ing hurt!"
Luckily there was no-one about. Got one of the paramedic tutors to dress it for me because it began to bleed quite profusely and she couldn't understand why I wasn't wincing in pain. I said "it looks worse than it is." and she replied, "Maybe it's because you're a tough old scouser." :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

That reminds me of the story of the dog who was filmed limping along the road. Turns out, there was absolutely nothing wrong with it ......... it was just copying it's owner who was on crutches :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Brother had that recently. Jeez. He got quite worried. It's easy to understand how undernourished people without posh dioralyte, keel over and die. He's wondering about some raw chicken he handled, otherwise, no idea where he got it. Thankfully his wife didn't get it.
