The chef at the Premier Inn had gone awol, managed to find a couple of run down pubs, our meal out ended up being a prawn sandwich and a packet of crisps from an M&S simply food attached to a nearby petrol station. Fortunately they managed to find someone to cook breakfast.

Monday morning at the Land Rover Experience was pretty good though.

Glad you enjoyed your LR experience day. I gotta say though, from the back, you are a dead ringer for me - same colour hair, glasses, even the same ‘hole in the hair' that I have! :ROFLMAO:

All very well that guy telling you to drive half in and half out but imagine if that was in a strange part of the countryside. You go to the right but, unfortunately, the depth of water at the edge is quite deep and you roll over!
I avoid deep water at all costs unless I regularly drive on the flooded road and can safely 'gauge' how deep it probably is.
Looked fun though. Did they take you up the steep incline with the drop on the other side?

60cms is max depth they will do without problems, I don't think I'll be driving around looking for water though. The hill descent button was an impressive feature though once you get used to taking your feet away from the controls and let the car think for you, I just kept wanting to hit the brakes.

When we did ours, we had a hill ascent feature. Just flick it on and let it climb.

After nearly 5 years of thinking about it, I actually got round to painting our Upvc Front door. I surprised myself. I used some Frenchic paint - they don't do a plain white, they do a paint colour called 'Dazzle me'. Of course, when Mrs Mottie came home she refused to sign it off, saying that she could see some grinning. A swift touch up soon cured it.

Later, Mrs Mottie and I went up for our flu jabs.

Had it gone into "limp" mode?
I have been bidding at the auctions again, spent too much so I decided to clear my shed and took some pictures of fishing tackle to flog on eBay.

Does secondhand fishing gear go for decent money these days? I used to fish quite a bit years ago, mainly nights for pike and carp. I’ve got a ton of gear up in my loft. Titan bivvy, Fox bedchair, Nash sleeping bag, Shimano 2.5TC rods, Shimano bait runners, fox rod pod, Fox rod bag, Fox thermal suit, Delkim Alarms and loads more - too much I can’t remember but all was pretty decent stuff in it’s day. I often think of having a clearout and then I can’t be arsed - keep thinking my grandson might use it one day but he's only coming up to 4 years old! It’s right next to all my unused golfing gear and behind my collection of classic mobile phones………

You should get a fair whack for a lot of those items, especially the Shimano rods and reels; I sometimes can't believe what people will pay. Just like the auctions, people get carried away, a couple of sovereigns sold for £380 and £400, you then have to add 30% premium, so over £500 each, you can get them from a bullion dealer for around £400.

I decided I couldn't delay any longer - I had to fly round with the vac.. Once started, I'm difficult to stop, I then decided, as it was a dry day and to give the upright vac itself a clean and service outside on the bench. After which it was also a good time for a late lunch/early dinner. I had taken out one of the sausage casseroles, from a slow cooker batch I made a couple of weeks ago, from the freezer, to go with bubble & squeak made yesterday, from the left-overs of my Sunday dinner. I have started making a deliberate point of making a little more mash and cabbage than I need for just that meal, in order to be able to make some B&S later for a bit of supper - it goes very well indeed with a fried egg on top. I've never made B&S before, best way seems to quick fry it to create a crisp, brown skin.

For a change just half an hour ago, I made some B&S with some torn up, wafer thin, frozen peppered sliced beef - that went down well.

The contents of my big freezer is gradually changing from bought in ready-meals, to ready-meals I have made myself and frozen in batches, plus lots of ready prepped and frozen veg, all ready to use. I have plastic boxes in there with sweet peppers, part fried onions and mushrooms, ready fried sausages, then several sausages casseroles, chicken hotpots, chicken chasseur, a stock of ready minted lamp chops, a few steaks, Angus burgers and Venus snitzels.

I'm just waiting for the washer/dryer drum bearings to be delivered this week, then I will clear the decks to try to get that done.
