What have you been doing today?

I have a steam inhaler which is very good for clearing phegm from the chest (and snout)

Same thing is sold to women at Argos as a facial sauna for cleansing the skin. High Street chemists probably have that sort of thing

I think you would find it helpful. When I was being treated they put a humidifier in my room. I was at 3 000metres and the local doctor found it quite common

Also cheaper

I think I'm over the worst. My temperature has been as high as 39.7

Thr sweat has been dripping off me. Most of the nurses have been fantastic.

Night nurses are the worst I've found.

One Indian fella Has been great I get the impression he takes the slack of a couple of lazy nurses.

Part of being a nurse is the ability to engage and communicate. Two night of the nurses are useless

The extra 50,000 will help a lot

If they ever materialise.

Had to jump start my commuter scooter to get to work today. Cant bump start them. I suspect the cold weather hasn't helped or the fact that it's not used much these days, but I've given the battery a quick charge up in work to get me home and I'm taking my CTEK battery charger/conditioner home to see if I can condition the battery. If that doesn't work, its new battery time.

Morning eye test at the opticians, higher prescription reading specs required. 130 notes!!! Needed a couple of steadiers after such largesse, so got drawn into White Lion for a couple of Dooms and a sandwich on the way past. Got a few provisions from supermarket then walked home.

Should have gone to Specsavers. Literally. I go there, free eye tests and I only have reading glasses so not bothered what they look like. Two pairs for £69. I went last week - prescription had only changed by .25% since last time so he said not to bother with new glasses.

Thanks for the tip. Think I will try Specsavers next time. I went to Boots and they certainly know how to charge. I only have readers too and they were from their Boots range - no fancy designer frames. Advancing into codger status has it's costs. :(

I have been getting free eye tests for years, because I had a close relative with glaucoma.

There are probably other criteria.

Was out walking my dog when I got a text from my mum saying she was going to hospital (again  ) with the same pain she's had for the last 30 fricking years so I had to divert off and go round to bring her dog back to here. Feck knows how long she'll be in this time - she'll be having scans and X-rays and…..they’ll send her home with some paracetamol. Rinse, repeat. No matter how many times I tell them the problem is in her head, because I’m not a doctor. No wonder the health service is in a state catering for bed-blockers like my mum. It’s a constant cause of argument between us.
