What have you been doing today?

Sounds terrible. Glad you're back home. I had to pick my mum up from Queens hospital last night. I had to get a wheelchair from the car park to wheel her out and it was like going through an airport on a bank holiday - absolutely ram packed.

I used to get a free eye test at Specsavers, but I think they charge now, or they were going to last time I asked about a test. Maybe wait 'till I'm old enough for a freebie, I can still see.
There's a bit more to it than that.

I can still "see", but my eyesight is not good enough to drive.

Can you be sure yours is, without a proper assessment?

That bloody Golf of ours has gone all monkey on me since it was known it’s fallen foul of Khans ULEZ cash cow and is going to have to go. Last night while scraping the ice off the screen, the wipers decided to sweep, caught my scraper and snapped. I had to wrap a glove around the end of the arm to protect the screen. This morning after 9 years of service and for the first time ever, it refused to start. Probably glow plugs. I’ll have to bring some tools home from work to look at it. I have never minded spending out on this car but now I know it’s going, I feel like every purchase is a grudge purchase.

Replaced two faulty glow plugs. Still won’t start unless I give it a drop of easy start. Got to be the relay as well as not getting a full 12v when the glow plug light comes on. Grrr.

Just picked up Susie from the groomers. She normally gets a pretty bow after she’s been cut but today she must have been identifying as a dog and has been given a Christmas tie. She doesn’t look to happy about it! :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Today we took the Mitsub to the garage. Check engine light on, tacho doing weird stuff.

Swapped old plugs for new and two new coil packs. Wouldn't start.

Fitted old coil pack to nearside and one new one to the off. Started fine. Garage bloke puzzled as to why. Both new coil packs are OK.

Then I went to a medical appointment. Later in the day we both went and got ourselves a flu jab.

Got all dressed in my work gear and went out to fix our frost covered diesel Golf that wasn’t starting in the cold only to find it had fixed itself! Weird, I know, but nothing to check so I’ll accept it for now. :cautious:

Coming back from the shops I saw a neighbour had left this outside their house as a freebie so I parked up and walked back to take it. Flat tyres, rusty chain, partially seized gears and brake cables but nothing that can’t be fixed in my cycle maintenance class. One of the students can have it when it’s safe to ride on the road.
