What have you been doing today?

But there's a dilemma for you, as it was for me. You see someone leave a bag and walk away. Would you ring the rozzers?

I had visions of them taping off the whole area, stopping buses and trams, evacuating the exhibition centre and preventing cars from leaving the underground car park.....

Busy day for me today. Mrs was working so I decided to do stuff around the house. First went to Homebase to pick up a couple of stepladders to put up some lights in our back yard area. The LED flood lamps have burned out so I’m replacing them with solar powered LED PIR lamps, which I already use at the front of the house and are REALLY bright. Hung two of these above the kitchen door and two smaller ones either side of the garage door. They work really well - hilariously the one on the right side of the garage door detects anyone the moment they step outside the kitchen door whereas the two above the kitchen take a second or two to do so.

Then I went and left some pictures in to get frames done so they can be hung in our newly decorated living room. In the afternoon I replaced a couple of switches - the one on the landing and the one in the downstairs hall - they were rather ratty looking brass things so I replaced them with slimline white ones. Downstairs switch was tricky enough as it was a double switch controlling the downstairs light and the one on the landing, but I drew a wiring diagram and followed it - switch terminals were laid out differently on the brass switch. Everything working perfectly!

After Mrs got home we went for a pre dinner walk to a nearby harbour. I’m exhausted now and Mrs has banned me from doing anything round the house tomorrow so I can have a rest day. No arguments from me there.

What harbour's that? looks a nice place for a mooring.

It’s a village called Groomsport, in North Down, Northern Ireland. It’s a lovely place.

Absolutely stunning. I used to have a yacht in North Wales and many times we sailed to the Isle of Man, then went on to Dublin, Malahide or Howth, but twice we went to Strangford Lough, never went south of the border after that, loved the scenery and the people.

Strangford is lovely. We've only recently moved to County Down from elsewhere in NI and we're really finding ourselves spoilt for choice when it comes to places to visit!

Would be even more lovely without people fitting searchlights to their properties, especially those that flick on at the slightest disturbance.

The night sky is beautiful, but only if you can actually see it.

Just sayin' :)

Yes that is rather annoying. One of the downsides of residential areas!

Sunny Staffs (y)

Next door neighbour has a led searchlight that comes on when I go into my garden, even in the day..........
I have mentioned it to him, but he prioritises other things.
And a property over the back has a searchlight that's on constantly (not switched at all), that bleeds beyond their boundary and through my lounge and landing windows. Very irksome.

My lights, even though they're solar powered and sensor-operated, are switched to "off" unless I actually need them.

That’s annoying. We have a security light thing above our garage (was already there when we moved in) but it points down at an angle so light doesn’t penetrate much further than the end of our driveway.

I’ve been to Staffordshire a few times. Trained with the TA in Leek many years ago (the camp there has now closed I think). We also passed through the area on our way home after a recent trip to France via England. Lovely part of the world.

Not today but yesterday, Bridport hat festival, great day out lots to eat/drink, no stabbings/sexual assalts/rioting, but what can you expect when its 99.9 % white brits just having a good old fashioned day out, 99.9% because I did speak to a Canadian and an American couple holidaying in the area they loved it.
I was on holiday near there recently, I went to Bridport Lidl for bbq food frequently.

West Bay is lovely, spent some great days there.

Ive never heard of a hat festival, but hey why not sounds fun
