What have you been doing today?

Mrs filly asked for a ring doorbell a couple of years ago as part of her xmas present. I had no idea of their capabilities other than if you rung it, you could talk to someone remotely, 'yeah leave the parcel round the back mate'. that sort of thing.

So, fitted it before new year. All good. Now Mrs filly works till 5.30 each day, gets home between 6.00 and 6.15, she's a grafter. First week in January I manage to leave a job fairly promptly, home by 3.00, cup of tea, snooze in the chair for an hour or so and awake in time to see The Chase.
She walks in just after 6.00,
'Hi, nice day?'
'Well, you know, tough'.
'What time did you get in?'
'bout quarter to 6 I think'
'That's really strange, I saw a video on my smart watch of you reversing into the drive at 3.00'

Have you had gallstones, my wife had that once - the most painful thing she said she’d ever had.

I was once waiting in AE and there was a guy with gallstones in the waiting room - he was in so much pain he ended up lying on the floor in a ball and kicking his legs
I had multiple gallstones, which luckily for me the ones which passed through, went through quickly, and the pain was OKish.

Consultant suggested Op. to prevent future complications.

I've been messing about with my IPcam, and completely lost it this week. No problem with it on the Iphone app, reconfigured it from scratch multiple times, I just could not get the PC software, which had worked fine with it before, to connect. I've been at it three days trying to get it working again. I even got as far as getting the ladders out, to take it down and bring it indoors, so I could delete its config, and start again.

Finally got there this evening - it just needed NVR switched on, and a password set up there, then it connected. I, just need to get the ladder out, reinstall it outside - tomorrow, if the weather allows.

Then we gave the dog a good bath, brush, and a blow dry.

Down to 4 cigs today and not feeling any craves.
Like @Harry Bloomfield said in an earlier post, I used to go into my workshop, light up, have a think about what I was going to do and then get on with it. Once I'd gathered the parts together, I'd light up another. Need to think about how to do something? Light up.
These days I don't have a fag with my coffee when I get up. I wait till I've had some breakfast, which may be 2 hours or more after getting up. I will then only have a few puffs before pegging it out and putting it in my tin for later. I always leave the tin in the kitchen cupboard by the back door, (out of sight), because when we have a smoke it's always outside. If it's raining, we simply don't bother.
Feeling good about how it's going and also feeling proud of myself.
Oncologists will be discussing my case at their Monday meeting, so expect to hear something early next week about what they will propose.

Just lit one up to kickstart the lungs this a.m. I'm so used to it now my coffee just wouldn't taste the same.

Mrs Mottie works till 1.00 Mon-Weds and is home by 1.30. After dossing about, watching telly, surfing the net and sometimes snoozing, I start a mad clear up at 1.00 - making the bed, hoovering, emptying the dishwasher, putting the breakfast stuff away, making lunch and general tidying up. The house looks a right tip before I start, especially if I’ve had a fry-up after my dog walk. Anyway, when I was having trouble with my drains and was threatening to call in on the boss of Thames Water, she sent her lackey round, unnanounced, to placate me. She rung the doorbell and when I opened the door, told me she was just in the area and asked if I had time to talk about my complaint. I couldn’t talk on the doorstep but I hadn’t cleaned up yet so I said she could come in if she excused the mess and didn’t tell my wife about the state of the place. Of course, Mrs Mottie saw all that and the game was up - I got a minor *******ing when she got home that day. Bloody doorbell! I have since learned you can delete recordings should you need to. ;)

Watching the board vanish like a scene from 'The Langoliers' - very strange.
Maybe y'all in a different dimension now?
Welcome to The Twilight Zone'.

Been helping out on another shoot today. Since my dog has gone almost deaf, her sense of smell has increased tenfold. She can now smell a pheasant in some bracken, under a bush or hiding in a pile of logs. She found and flushed three today that the other dogs had walked straight past. She's getting in now but being a working dog I have to keep an eye on her as she would work till she dropped. When we get home, she gets out of the car as stiff as me! I’ve taken to giving her a bath when she gets home to clear the mud out and to warm her up. Oh, and again today, I won the sweepstake for number of birds shot.

All the dogs love a sausage. I smuggled a few out from the breakfast laid on by the shoot.

Bless her.

Something in the air, had my Gallbladder removed, keyhole surgery.
Let us know how you cope with it. Some have a runny bother.

I have gall stones and kidney stones which hurt a bit more, but Tramadol deals with both, if I take enough.
I'd have to have a laparotomy rather than endoscopy, which is a bit more fuss.
One alternative is an interesting one, an ERCP or endoscopic retrograde choliopancreatography. Thet's where they go down your oesophagus through the stomach into the duodenum and find the ampulla of Vater. They go in there with a hooky thing with a wire, so they cut and therefore ease the sphincter of Oddi. That's where the hepatic and pancreatic ducts discharge into the gut, and stones are likely to get stuck. It only reduces the chance of trouble though, so I CBA.

Got my feet up recovering from a knee replacement opp on Tuesday, second one this year, had 1st in April and if this one turns out as successfull I shall be well pleased.
Hope it works for you. Some say it replaces one pain with another.
My walking days are over, pretty much. Need a wheelchair.

The one I had done in April has been great, painfull to start with, pretty good about 3 months, 6 months real improvement, I think the secret is not to over do it in first week then keep up with physio, I'm just hoping this one will be as sucsessfull, mansged to get it done at the Nuffieldon the NHS and insisted on the same surgeon, so fingers crossed.
