Not today, but....
A chain pubs carvery opened locally, a few years ago, so I gave it a try several times, and I was always disappointed by the quality of the cooking. Roast spuds, overdone, food left under the lights too long and dried out it seemed, even when they had just begun serving.
We got a 30% off leaflet through the door, mid-week, so we decided to give them another chance on Friday lunch. The place was busy, not many it seemed eating, but the guy serving at the carvery was doing his best to eke out the meagre turkey breast, and the beef joint, no bigger than we would have at home. Who ever had cooked the mashed potatoes, hadn't been watching them, because they were over-boiled and were just a puddle, in the dish, roast spuds dry, hard, and over done, carrots were near raw, sprouts under cooked. The one thing they had managed to get right, were the Yorkie Puds.
Later the same day, I went on their FB site, mentioned how disappointed I had been and that I had posted on FB at the time, soon after they had opened, plus why I had originally stopped going. This time, I mentioned all the issues above. Their page was plastered with glowing reviews, apart from my own. The manager had followed it up with a 'sorry you were disappointed'.
Someone else had added a blatant bitcoin add, plus 5 stars - to which the manager had replied, 'Glad to hear you enjoyed your visit.
Obviously they do not read, or take note of what feedback is posted, or attempt to improve anything. Travel a few miles to the next centre, where there is another pub chain's carvery, and I have never been even slightly let down by their offerings, I have given them glowing and honest FB reviews, plus it is a pound or two cheaper.
