What have you bought today?

A giant lorry poppy (40x36cm) from the British Legion. There’s a trend round here of putting them on lamp posts. We have a lamp post outside our house so it’s going on there.

Roasted, shelled, ready to eat chestnuts. From Home Bargains. £1.25. Loverly. Not had chestnuts since I was a nipper, and raw, eaten on the hoof. I remember that shelling them, would make my thumbnails quite sore.

Spur of the moment - I bought myself a hip flask, don't really know why, or it's purpose, but I've filled it with brandy, it itself, not an easy task. Not even easy to take a drink from, the cap so small, that trying to take a swig, causes a vacuum, so you barely get any out at all.

Bought some vet time for the dog today. She had an occasional runny poo over the last few weeks. Mrs Mottie is convinced she has a parasite so requested blood tests. £252 and that’s probably just the start of it - depending on the results, full scan next!
More vet time - just over a grands worth today. Still more to come yet - I’ve got to collect a sample of her shìt for the next three days and stump up for that to be sent off for analysis to a private clinic in the Swiss Alps no doubt! You'd think for what we paid today, they’d chauffeur someone round to do it for us!
