What have you bought today?

Bought my first Christmas present for Mrs Mottie this year although she will be getting it on December 1st. Good value.

John Lewis beauty advent calendar. You have to get these things early as they usually sell out fast.

That was quick! Ordered yesterday at 1.00, collected it at 10.00 today from my local Waitrose. Very heavy, lots of stuff - 32 items in 25 boxes. Smells absolutely gorgeous. Mrs Mottie will be well pleased. I've checked all the drawers but no golden or lucky tickets in them. :( I'd better box it back up, get it up in the loft and open all the doors and windows before Mrs Mottie gets home as with her hyperosmia, she'll think I’ve had another woman in the house! :ROFLMAO:

No. Definitely 100% Greek yoghurt. Mrs mottie has specifically told me to avoid the Greek style as its full of additives to thicken it up. They do do a GREEK yoghurt with a tiny, tiny style next to it the crafty buggers.

I like the 1kg Greek style yogurt from Lidl. It's smoother and milder than Aldi's.

But rest assured, whichever of those two Greek style yogurts you choose, they both only have one ingredient: Milk.

Mrs M is right, though. Many yogurts have added rubbish. Often modified starch is added to thicken a sloppy yogurt. Sometimes yogurts even have gelatin added to thicken them.

But a quick check of the label will reassure you both. Nearly all plain Greek or Greek style yogurts just have milk in them. And of course, the bacteria to ferment it.

Another years insurance on the Golf. Renewal price £384. Phoned up not to ask for better price, but to tell them I would not be renewing (that gets their attention better), they asked why, I said better price elsewhere - £339, they said we don’t usually price match (yer, right) but as I was a good customer, they will beat that price and quoted me £327. Sorted. :ROFLMAO:

Make 'em earn their fee ;)

Unusually, the recorded message before I spoke to a real person said "Our operatives earn a commission if you buy an insurance product from us". Dunno whether that’s the law these days?

My broker, even states on the renewal, how much they make on the policy. I always make them earn the money :)

Nowt really, I have just sold our surplus to our needs portable bottled gas heater. We bought it long ago, as a backup heater, we never really needed it, it has just occupied space needlessly, so I put it on FB Marketplace, and just at the right time. Flooded with enquiries.

I'm trying to move on, at least some of the surplus stuff, which has been accrued here, over the many decades. Bottled gas heater today, antenna rotator, the day before yesterday.

Oh, and I've just had a CO meter delivered from China. Aicevoos AS-E6. It's extremely sensitive, and well-made, with a nice large, easy to read display + proper English instructions, rather than Chinglish.

Can’t get to grips with my new ovens so ordered meat and oven thermometers.

You're lucky. Brother used some oven cleaner other day to do his oven. Used a bit of it on the fascia above oven door around the controls. Cleaner must have been strong stuff, as it stripped off all the markings for oven temps, settings, etc.

Got to buy a new fascia panel now.:LOL:

Bought some vet time for the dog today. She had an occasional runny poo over the last few weeks. Mrs Mottie is convinced she has a parasite so requested blood tests. £252 and that’s probably just the start of it - depending on the results, full scan next!
