What have you bought today?

It's a big thing to carry everywhere. IMHO.
I've just bought a iPhone 16 Pro Max. Personally I don’t think it’s that big to carry everywhere. Perhaps Harry might have been better suited to an iPhone mini?

I only take mine when I go out in case my car breaks down. I leave it in the car. It is very freeing to not be tethered to it.

I went for a larger phone, because I was struggling to type on my SE, my digits are just too big. I struggled to hit the on-screen buttons, and so found it better to use a stylus thingummy. Trouble is, my favourite jacket, includes a phone pocket, but the 13 will not fit in it :(

Mrs Mottie has been to IKEA today. She came back with some bits and bobs but the main thing was a SNURRAD . Quite handy, actually.

Another years annual car parking pass for two cars, valid at my local country park and six others for £93. Bloody good value considering we walk our dog there every single day of the week and it would cost us a minimum of £4 a time to park there. We break even at just three and a half weeks on one car. :)

Up early this morning, to drive with the trailer, over to Wigan, to collect the mobility scooter I bought it unseen, via ebay, at around half the new cost. I was expecting it to have had some use, but it only had demo mileage on it, and totally new otherwise, and stood unused since purchase in July 2022, never even had it's first service, nor registered. Left unused, without being charged, it had wrecked the batteries. The owner had passed away, and the son had fitted a set of new batteries to it, in order to sell it. It's a Veleco Gravis, and quite a beast of a machine, but the turning circle, of a Jumbo jet.

I had arranged to go across to collect it last Saturday, but I did my back in, get the trailer out, past the caravan, so it was postponed until today. I've been panicking a bit all week, about whether I could even get it to fit on my little trailer, the wheelbase was slightly more, than the length of the trailer. My plan was to get the heavier end, rear wheels on, then have timber blocks to support the chassis at the front end, leaving the front wheels dangling, then lashing it all down very tight. The plan worked just fine.

'25-'26 council tax bill at a local Post Office.

Had 'helpful' advice from the bloke behind me in the queue that I should pay by Direct Debit then I wouldn't be holding him up, before I could answer the chap working at the counter made the comment that by using the PO to pay I was helping to keep them open to serve the community.

Not something I've bought as such, however just saved myself £20 a month by signing new contract with Virgin Media. Was paying £96 per month, now down to £76 for 18 months. I'm happy enough paying that and saves me the hassle of shopping around. Plus, only Virgin provide true high speed broadband in my area so my choices re alternatives are limited.

What does one need that for?
?

Emmm, better download/upload speeds.

I could opt for BT's copper service, up to 21Mbps down / 1Mbps up. Or remain with my current service, up to 350Mbps down / 25Mbps up.

Whilst I'm not a gamer or heavy broadband user in terms of downloading etc, I WFH and prefer a service with some oomph ;)

We're with Vodafone. More than enough speed for us.

Our previous Vodafone package was less than half that speed and even that was fast enough to watch up to 4K films on the firestick. We just upgraded to full fibre under a new contract and it was a couple of quid cheaper. We can watch anything on any channel. £25 a month. (y)
