What have you bought today?

For months, I've had my eye on FB market, looking for a Bisley style, set of shallow document drawer, for storing some of my drill bits, lathe bits, cutters and etc.. I spotted what I was seeking, at the right price range, local, and made an offer 1/3rd below the asking, yesterday. Accepted, and I have just been to collect it.

Local town, to do a bit of a restock. Plan was, to have ham, egg, and chips for dinner, but the only ham we could find, was that horrible processed and pressed ham, apart from a large tray of ham offcuts. Looked like the pukka stuff, so we bought that. Smaller offcuts made it into a sandwich for lunch, larger slices, for dinner, which is on now..

More vet time! Not for us though, for my mums 'rat'. Listless, off her food, hasn’t eaten for 3 days but drinking. £84 last night for a checkover and anti-sickness injection. Seemed worse today so I took her back. Another checkover, bloods taken (done already - no real concerns) plus an appetite stimulator pill. £204. 2 hours later eating like a horse and has perked right up. Might be back to normal when the drug wears off though, then it’s urine test, scans etc etc. These vets charge nearly as much as some of the plumbers on here…..

She was okay two weeks ago …..

Took a walk with Susie up to our local department store to look for a couple of saucepans for the induction hob. The ones we got 'free' with the Neff hob are bloody useless - two little ring handles, one on either side requiring you to use both hands when tipping the hot water out. No good when draining spuds or rice as the contents come out with the water. Anyway, they had a pretty decent sale on - 30% off. I bought a couple of them and that should have come to just under £74. With the discount they came to just under £52. Plus, when I scanned my loyalty card they had loaded £7.50 on it as an upcoming birthday treat so in all, they cost me just £44.23. Not bad.

Full fibre broadband. Upgraded with the same provider - Vodafone. Slightly cheaper than what I am currently paying but nearly 5 times as fast.
