The EU has no need, and no desire, to punish Britain
What do you mean John. I think it was Junkers and a couple of others that said that they weren't going to give us a good deal.
Hard and soft Brexit are terms created by the media
Hard Brexit means we leave the customs union, and are then able to make trade deals with the rest of the world, but we then have to negotiate a trade deal and customs tax rates with the EU.
Soft Brexit means that we stay in the customs union, pay into the EU, have to put up with freedom of movement rules, as well as the ECHR rulings - so effectively, we're still in the EU.
There is Brexit, anything after that is what we negotiate as a free and democratic state.
And that's exactly what it should be, unfortunately, the likes of Mandleson, Gleg and Farron (and quite a few on this site) think they can justify trying to stay in by saying people didn't understand what they were voting for, and I suspect that was true, but that still doesn't make the result any less valid.
