Well, I worked with some myself for a couple of years when I was a washing up in the kitchens. Obviously this does not mean all EU are better workers, it's just an example of a few people in one company that made an impact on somebody who has been employing people for decades in catering, hospitality, and before that the motor trade.

UK low end workers, need to be taught the work ethic at school. So many seem to be brought up to expect a life of luxury and leisure, with no effort needed. There also needs to be more effort put into forcing them to earn their living.

Its easy to conflate arguments.....the Daily Mail have done for decades.

The way media do it is simple, they write a story about an immigrant raping somebody and gets away with it, they then talk in general terms about how all these criminals come here and its not long before the reader is getting angry about all those terrible immigrants that take our jobs and rape girls.

To avoid falljng into such a trap one needs to check facts and see how many rapist are foreigners, how that rate compares to the indiginous population. And then have a sensible discussion about how government could tighten controls at border to reduce any problem that exists.

If we fall for the Daily Mail style of conflating it could lead to blamibg the EU, then a referendum and a silly government ttying to force no deal and making us poorer.

Now we wouldnt want that to happen would we

I don't think they are doing that in the schools. I do agree with your parting sentence, but I think it is going so badly wrong - kids these days leave school expecting the earth and when they don't get it, become disillusioned. It is so lacking the 'work hard' part.

It is true that anyone can enter, but it is the British Government which chooses not to follow up.

No but to stay here you need a tax number to do nearly everything and to get one you have to have a job to go to or be able to support yourself.
That is - comply with EU rules. That Britain does not do this, is, for the umpteenth time, not the fault of the EU.

Obviously you have picked Bulgaria because it is a bit backward, but substitute Germany or France and get a job there.
