Hi there, looking for some advice for what options I have for wiring up a Sauna (4.5kw,20Amps) at the back of my house.

I do have a relative speaking to a proper electrician who will do the proper stuff...connecting to the MCU etc.

The cable is going come from the MCU (on its own breaker) run 30metres around the house to back garden.

The house has external insulation and has an area below the insulation where any cable/conduit can be clipped onto the house and you wont see it. There is also a trench around the house about 2 ft deep and about foot in width...(damp issue solution)..the cable could also be laid in here before i fill with gravel...which would be easiest and preferable solution.

So my question is what would be my choices for cable..sizes, type etc?

I appreciate that...he is going to be doing the connecting up as a favour and I wanted to have it all prepped for him. Surely there is a standard cable for such a job??

This is not a DIY job.
Your electrician is the person to ask and he alone is the only person as at the end of the job he will be signing the document as the person who designed, installed and tested the installation. It is up to him how much he is happy for you to do as his labourer/assistant. Many electricians will walk away from a job if all they see is a cable poking out of a hole at each end without knowing what happens to it in the middle.
