To be fair, they could just be fellow travellers.
Then why can't everyone, anyone prove it?
I'll tell you why. Because you can't prove malicious gossip. When you do try, it proves that it was exactly that, malicious gossip, based on a fantasy.
What it does prove is who the malicious gossipers are.
They resort to such malicious gossip because their arguments are invariably proven to be ridiculous and it is all they have left in their armoury.

Never known anyone go out of their way to incriminate themselves more so.
You get incredibly defensive. I wonder why.
You may find out when someone persistently accuses you of impersonating another, even several others, without a shred of evidence, just persistent accusations because their arguments are invariably and constantly destroyed.
