Who certifies socket location

Hi,

Could anybody please advise on the following.
We have been building an extension with a kitchen, and I have concern about one socket location. It's on the "splash back" wall of the kitchen and around 210mm away from an induction hob horizontally.
I read in different places that it should be 300mm away, in others it's minimum 100mm.
Electrician didn't mention anything and has certified the work (he wasn't the one who put sockets). Will the building control inspector be paying attention to this too or is the certification from the electrician draws the line under this?

We need to get the (expensive) spash back done and I don't want to find out too late that we have to move the socket.

Thanks!

They are switches; not sockets.

The switches are not a requirement therefore there is no regulation for distance; just common sense regarding likely damage and danger to the user.

There are far as I am aware no minimum distance for electric, only gas, looking at common sense the hob is only heated from the pan, so boiling point is around max temp for the induction hob, so should not be a problem.

I do note the 100 mm distance in the guide, and it would be better if alterations were not required if you went for a different type of hob.

I have no concerns with the practical or safety aspect of it myself, only whether I may be forced to move it. Looks like it's 100mm mininum so I should be fine
