Who's noticed my absence over the last few weeks????????????

Anyway, more of the same next week or are you back into building?

Unfortunatly the building scene is still flat, no pun intended, so another 670k awaits me tomorow thru to Friday, truckin has certainly changed in the last 5yrs, the knights of the road are few and far between. :(

Apparently it only cost £250 to obtain an hgv1 in Poland, so anybody thinking down those lines take a holiday and get your licence at the same time. Simples

You should have been in the left lane. Keep left except when overtaking. And no, I didn't miss you. Sorry!

Yes I quite agree but when you've just overtaken a car and he decides to speed up before you have distance/time to move back to the left what are you supposed to do?

Do you know what really pees me off? car drivers!! The ones that get on the M way and hog the 2nd and 3rd lanes then when you come to a contra flow they've got to overtake the truck in front of them and then move into MY lane, the problem is they adhere to the 50mph speed limit BUT their speedometer is calibrated to over read, they are in fact doing 45mph which is why i am now practicaly sitting in their boot, WHY must they overtake going into a contra flow and WHY do they move into the left hand lane, if there is an emergency STOP! remember if i am wide awake, as i've probably been driving all day, i may not be as quick as you on the brakes, ALSO dont forget the truck in your rear view mirror may be well over 30tonnes which DOES NOT stop on a sixpence, so next time you overtake a truck you may wish to stay out in the 3rd lane

You can moan to the cows come home you'll never get through to them thick bar stewards.

Well humble pie on the menu, i'm still doing the same run but apparently i'm not M/T i am in fact carrying "glider engines"

Yeah, sorry mate, didn't miss you...

Done a lot of that in the past with a 7.5 tonner. Last time I did a serious run it was an overnighter.

Manchester - Greenock - Gourock - Glasgow - East Kilbride - Gretna Green - Carlise - Manchester.

That was the run that made me decide to give up the fags. I took 200 with me and by the time I got back to the depot, I was opening the last pack.

Just get bored driving. Smoke one, chuck it out the window, then 5 mins later...I'm bored, what can I do? I know, I'll spark up another fag....

Miss it in a funny way.

The driving, not the smoking!!!

Bit like a tobacco brown interior in the cab > Very trendy

Enjoy driving but as you say, cig after cig after cig but as you are not supposed to smoke in vehicles now its turning into sweet after sweet after sweet when I do have to do driving.

Thought it was supposed to be Yorkies?

Changing subject slightly - are truckers allowed to pick up hitchhikers? Come to think of it, do people still hitchhike? Can't remember the last time I saw one.

Don't think they are, due to insurance risks, but has that ever stopped them in the past?
Sometimes see these 'shunters', (guys who deliver cars between centres), standing there with a set of trade plates but not many 'camper' type hitch-hikers any more.

Yep- those drivers annoy 'CAR' drivers too.
However those guys who drive behind me in massive trucks- annoy me even more --especially when they are 10' from my rear end.

I honestly would love one of those truck drivers to follow me into the services. (as I indicate to them from time to time).
BUT- they never do.
Know why ? because they are usually ikkle fat chaps with a even fatter belly to match.
Big truck- ikkle guy..
One day one of them may take me on- I relish that moment .
ikkle driver in BIG truck - means nothing.

Bit of a macho male think- methinks.

PP Please enlighten us, what roads are you on when trucks sit in your boot or thereabouts??

Mr PP or would you prefer Pizz? Please enlighten me (sorry i was going to keep this sentence down to words of no more than two scylables) how can trucks sit on your a55 when they are limited to 55mph, or are you one of these cretins that sit in the middle lane at 50mph all day.

Also what is "ikkle" ?? and why would i want to take you on?? I'm getting a mental image of you, do you resemble a neandertal?? I'm afraid my days of "taking you on" are somewhat in the past, we use to call it "mod bashing" in the 60's nowadays I would much rather take the urine..
