In order to have emergency lights and ceiling fans one has to follow standard UK wiring methods which also reduce the ELI at the end of the run. Can't see why any country would not allow our method of wiring.
We also use switches as junction boxes when fitting ELV systems but with ELV systems you can't really have emergency lights or fans anyway.
What may be not allowed in other countries is our ceiling rose because it can be opened without a tool there is an exception in our regulations for ceiling roses.
As to last years post I wanted a Class II fitting for my mothers kitchen since I was not fitting it there needed to be a class II sticker on it. I bought one from the internet and the 2D unit looked identical to 2D units in the likes of B&Q except it had the sticker for which I paid an extra £25.
Seem to remember it came from
here although can't be positive about that and the comment "We stock the latest in specialist lights that only require positive & negative wiring." does make me wonder how professional they are as nothing says they are for DC systems.
I wondered at the time if they just got a load of stickers and affixed them to the lamps? However on the high ceiling in my mothers kitchen I was not really worried she can never reach it to renew a bulb and I will switch off before I renew a bulb.
This
Amazon listing shows the same lamp with same manufacturers part number as
This advert which claims it's double insulated.
So what does the team think. Do suppliers have a role of double insulated stickers?
