Some "good" news. Looks like US pressure has opened the northern aid route and also altered the terms of use of the other entry point from Israel rather than Egypt. Also opened the Israeli port for aid - the one north of the strip. Also Biden calls for an immediate cease fire. Israel has said temporary to the lot - they intend to carry on at some point. Cease fire - 3 attacks usual types in the last few hours. The US are just saying they may change their attitude.
A UN peace keeping force might be of interest but they are useless if sides continue to fight.
It seems as Iran has made noises concerning the embassy strike Israeli are panic buying food and water and a number of Israeli embassies have been closed down on top of the ones that already are. A polictical analysis reckons mainly because of Gaza Iran is unlikely to do much.
The general assembly have vote in a motion that Israel must be held accountable. US against as no mention of HAMAS. Well I am pretty sure there is a security council member who would include both if it ever got to that level and not Russia who would probably support it. However would the US veto a full and proper investigation?
The wiki article on resolution 242 makes an interesting read - the various political comments on it. Why wasn't something done - strategic reasons. Israel has flaunted various laws ever since and had before anyway.
Then of course at one point OPEC put a ban on exports to the US causing a fuel crisis. A pretty serious one.
