Zion and the Art of Armageddon

Some "good" news. Looks like US pressure has opened the northern aid route and also altered the terms of use of the other entry point from Israel rather than Egypt. Also opened the Israeli port for aid - the one north of the strip. Also Biden calls for an immediate cease fire. Israel has said temporary to the lot - they intend to carry on at some point. Cease fire - 3 attacks usual types in the last few hours. The US are just saying they may change their attitude.

A UN peace keeping force might be of interest but they are useless if sides continue to fight.

It seems as Iran has made noises concerning the embassy strike Israeli are panic buying food and water and a number of Israeli embassies have been closed down on top of the ones that already are. A polictical analysis reckons mainly because of Gaza Iran is unlikely to do much.

The general assembly have vote in a motion that Israel must be held accountable. US against as no mention of HAMAS. Well I am pretty sure there is a security council member who would include both if it ever got to that level and not Russia who would probably support it. However would the US veto a full and proper investigation?

The wiki article on resolution 242 makes an interesting read - the various political comments on it. Why wasn't something done - strategic reasons. Israel has flaunted various laws ever since and had before anyway.

Then of course at one point OPEC put a ban on exports to the US causing a fuel crisis. A pretty serious one.

The general assembly
Hang on. Might be another or same. Human Rights Council calling for an arms embargo on Israel, Israel not getting as much support as it might like. Some supporters abstaining. It passed.

World Kitchen. 2 IDF sacked and others disciplined. BBC looser about the numbers.

This Hamas mob may well be a load of fruit cakes ? But they are not stupid ??

They knew exactly what Israel’s reaction would be to the October attacks

But we’re quite happy to see there population pay the price ;)

They have used there own population as cannon fodder ;)

I see there were thousands in Isreal protesting against there own government

If that had been in a dire ear a Stan country like say Iran the mad mullahs would have let loose thete revolutionary guards to kill / maim / rape / assault the protestors ;)

"More than 600 lawyers, including former Supreme Court President Lady Hale, have signed a letter to the prime minister warning that the government risks breaching international law by continuing to export weapons to Israel"

Maybe someone ought to mention to the lawyers that we import more arms from Israel than we export to them.

;) We always stick to the rules when we engage. Other than no prisoner raids which the US and Israel also may use at times.
Armed contractors are use as well at times. Mostly US, they can be rather gung ho. Then comes the hidden wars that crop up from time to time.

Spare parts
Some countries export small quantities of say fighter jet parts to Israel. Ours is tiny. Germany good bit bigger but still tiny compared with the US.

It's been said so. Don't carry a bag in the Gaza strip as your likely to get droned. Bag implies a HAMAS take over. Not sure how reliable that info is.

Cameron wants an independent inquiry. I think rather a lot of drone footage concerning the entire operation would be a good idea along with a careful check for tampering. Israel will have it.

Well you've certainly nailed your colours to your newly created mast...

Therefore no-one who cares about what is happening should give a damn about your bollux post!

Do you prefer the side who throw gays from roof tops, rape women, and oppress their women in general then?

It isn't my fault if you are morally confused and degenerate.

And yet we've managed to score a higher civilian death ratio in Kosovo and Iraq?
There is a report on Kosovo etc - beware it's long.
Gaza may be over estimating numbers but on the other hand the above didn't flatten large areas or involve deliberately bombing civilian buildings when a whole family was in them and other similar actions.

In the case of Iraq subsiqent investigations found far more collateral damage than US estimates but the range of numbers vary found vary. I'd agree that this one is more similar to Gaza for the same reasons - pure urban warfare results in more troop losses. Kurds were used as well. Reduces the west's body bags,
The war killed an estimated 150,000 to 1,033,000 people, including more than 100,000 civilians
But there is another aspect as well
The Iraq War (Arabic: حرب العراق, romanized: ḥarb al-ʿirāq) was a protracted armed conflict in Iraq from 2003 to 2011.
The duration relates to insurgents after Sadam's regime had been knocked down. Aid and rebuilding did happen did happen earlier.

Full story.
Further, the IDF said that only an attack on the first truck could be somewhat more justified because only there had the drones positively identified Hamas terrorists, whereas the suspicions about Hamas terrorists in the second and third trucks were based more on conjecture regarding the character of the trucks themselves.

How?

You have a link to illustrate this, i'm sure.

Sad news from Tel Aviv today - Ronald MacDonald is leaving the country. No more Happy Meals for the Kosher Kidz. That's gonna cost your buddy Bibi a Host of votes, yes?
