It makes no difference electrically but I would advise not - so that it can all be restored easily in the future and be apparent.

Yes some are made that way.Ok. but could be done another way - might have cord restraint on the flex.
The more I think about this, the upstairs circuit wiring should be removed from the rose as not only is it on a different circuit, it is also on a different CU.Good point.
