So Michael Gove has gone back to the EU to try and negotiate less trade friction at the border in NI that the prime minister says doesnt exist.

contradictions are inevitable because brexit was built on a lie.

It's good to know that arch-brexer rice-pudd support(ed) the DUP.

"Mr Rees Mogg said in March 2019 that he would not vote for a deal ‘under any circumstances' if it wasn’t backed by the DUP, stating that 'ultimately the United Kingdom is more important to me than the European Union'."

Have to admit i am a bit disappointed with Rees Mogg.
I expected better from a man who confesses to wearing double breasted pyjamas in bed.

Why is that?

Could it be that his relocating his financial interests to Ireland/EU/Tax havens is 'a bit of a disappointment' perchance?

This border is never going to work.
Borders are designed to delineate sovereign states.
What Boris and the EU have done is a violation of UK sovereignty.
The whole idea of the UK is supposed to be equality of citizenship between the 4 nations.
By allowing a foreign state to erect a border within the UK and subject UK citizens on one side of that border to foreign customs codes, foreign courts ect, has to be a breach of sovereignty.
A large section of the population of England voted remain, did Boris ever consider erecting an EU border across middle England.
I doubt it, as he knows that if he ever tried something like that he would get Lynched by angry citizens.

As a disillusioned Brexiter, if i had RMs dosh i would stash it in Dublin as well.
The RoI is the worlds biggest tax haven, all the big players use it, the big corporates still use it to launder their profits while the EU does nothing to stop them.

The EU are trying to stop it, possibly because they want to keep tax avoidance in mainland europe. Even at less than 1% that corporation tax accounts for a significant chunk of their GDP, it's even bigger than donkey meat.
Eventually Ireland will lose that particular veto, I wonder what they'll do then. Oh..............I know.(y)

Disillusioned with the Brexit you got?
(and if so what Brexit did you originally want?)

Or disillusioned with Brexit as a concept?

The EU isn't a 'foreign state'...

They are merely trying to uphold the pillars of their 'raison d'etre', which the UK helped to write btw.
And at the same time trying to prevent the UK breaking the good friday agreement, and NI descending back into chaos and violence.

You don't really believe all that old pony about trying to protect the GFA.
What was the EU thinking about when they invoked article 16 to prevent vaccines entering N. I.

This border is never going to work.

What a pity Prime Minister Johnson signed up for it, having previously voted against all other alternatives.

Do you remember him saying it was no problem; easy to solve; there will be no paperwork?

No need for a backstop?

Brexers, eh?

Whatever the arguments for or against Brexit, there should be no doubt that NI has been shat on from a huge height.....and let's be honest, very few people in England have really given any thought to NI. I have to be honest, I didn't understand the border isssue.

I really have no idea how this can now be solved. I fear lots of anger in NI, possible civil unrest and no solution at all on the horizon.
