This border is never going to work.
Borders are designed to delineate sovereign states.
Like Britain introduced a new border in Ireland in 1921?

What Boris and the EU have done is a violation of UK sovereignty.
The whole idea of the UK is supposed to be equality of citizenship between the 4 nations.
Tell the Scots, and the Welsh, and the Irish in NI.

By allowing a foreign state to erect a border within the UK and subject UK citizens on one side of that border to foreign customs codes, foreign courts ect, has to be a breach of sovereignty.
Like Britain introduced a new border in Ireland in 1921?

A large section of the population of England voted remain, did Boris ever consider erecting an EU border across middle England.
The majority of NI and Scotland voted to remain.
Did BJ ever consider a border between Scotland?
Your argument is not valid.

I doubt it, as he knows that if he ever tried something like that he would get Lynched by angry citizens.
Oh dear, still not dialling down the rhetoric.

As a disillusioned Brexiter, if i had RMs dosh i would stash it in Dublin as well.
The RoI is the worlds biggest tax haven, all the big players use it, the big corporates still use it to launder their profits while the EU does nothing to stop them.
Are you suggesting that UK could have done the same while remaining in EU?
Well who'd have thunk it?

The EU are trying to stop it, possibly because they want to keep tax avoidance in mainland europe. Even at less than 1% that corporation tax accounts for a significant chunk of their GDP, it's even bigger than donkey meat.
Eventually Ireland will lose that particular veto, I wonder what they'll do then. Oh..............I know.(y)
Why quote me in a response to Vinty?

Did you think you'd just throw in an arbitrary and completely irrelevant comment because you can?

Sorry for the confusion, it was in response to transam, hence the reference to tax havens.

blimey
so the EU are running tax havens than
well cannot say I am surprised tbh
money laundering , deception and corruption is rife in the EU ;)
it’s been run by unelected scoundrels for decades

The 1921 border was an agreed border between 2 states.
That is what borders are for,
The EU border in N. I. is an artificial creation because it is in UK sovereign territory.

.....and let's be honest, very few people in England have really given any thought to NI. I have to be honest, I didn't understand the border isssue.
Many did, posted in 2018:
If the UK government can decide what they want, and desribe how to do it, perhaps there is a way out of this impasse.

They haven't managed yet.

Would any of our resident Quitters like to try?

Just find a solution and tell us what it is.

I suspect the problem was raised quite a while before then.

Ireland was one country before the introduction of the border, by Britain in 1921, between NI and Ireland
Any unification of the island now will be a reunification.
You don't object to that one, but you do object to UK introducing a border between Britain and NI.
