A brexit benefit

One Brexit benefit I can think of is that it gives you, lally, JohnD and 48% of the voting public (plus Notch) a new purpose in life and that is to scan the papers looking for any stories that can be tenuously linked to Brexit. Can’t get a milkshake at McDonald’s - Brexit. Can’t get a bag of nails from B&Q - Brexit. Had to be put on hold when phoning the doctors - Brexit. It must be wonderful for you lot.

Don't blame it on the sunshine
Don't blame it on the moonlight
Don't blame it on good times
Blame it on Brexit.

You'd think anti EU Brexers and their low life lying rags, would have had enough of incessant moaning about the EU, now that 'we won'.
WRONG.

Shouldn’t you be out scouting about for plaster and cement? Put the phone down and get searching man!

Brexit - what a convenient scapegoat!

I sourced and placed an order for the roof tiles on our present job as we were laying the foundations. The branch manager at our local Tippers BM is sh!t hot at acquiring essentials for the builders. DIYers are rationed so that the pro's are kept supplied.

Still can't get a lot of gear though so have to make do with other manus, colours, brands etc. Still a reet pain. Customers just have to pay more.
Ho hum.

SHOCK! Pro-Brexit article in the Guardian.
Why is it a shock? You havent bought into the lies that its rivals tell about it, have you?

Larry Elliot has always been opposed to membership of the EU - he voted to leave the EC in the first referendum in 1975.

This excellent piece tells of how wages are rising and more jobs are available as a result of economic migrants going back home. Who'd have thought that?

So what’s so wrong with labour shortages driving up low wages? | Larry Elliott | The Guardian

Another one from a different Guardian journalist. In the chaos of Britain’s labour shortage, could workers forge better lives?

The thing is though we didnt have to leave the EU to improve peoples wages and employment rights. We didnt have to have a situation of making working conditions driven entirely by market forces.

Saying that people can now earn more is a benefit of Brexit is a bit like saying that getting new carpets curtains and sofa is a benefit of setting fire to your living room.

Why’s that
I use a Huws Gray and a Tippers as my local suppliers. They shift lorry loads of the stuff. We will have 40 bags delivered to our site alone. We can shift most of that on a big pour if access for a mixer truck is pants. Other builders just buy a pallet load (56 bags) now that the placcy bags can be left outside. Your paltry B&Q stock would not last long and would unlikely commit to bulk single orders in any case. You'd have to go through a hub.
