A COVID 19 fiasco

More cases yet fewer deaths per million than the UK - as per the figures,

If only we knew how many deaths from covid the UK had had, it might be more conclusive.

Do people think the UK deaths have been exaggerated to show how well lockdown worked?

Look Ryler, if denial is helping you cope - that's fine. It's also fine if you're scared. Lots of people are. The best way of getting out of denial and fear is to educate yourself - real accurate data, not could of, would of, should of. Knowledge is power - take back control.

No denial in Sweden.
No media frenzy.
No lockdown.
No masks.
No panicking.
No economy decimated like here in the UK.
No hiding and juking in the supermarket aisles like everyone's got leprosy.
No school closures.
No childrens futures jepordized.

You are still wrong about Sweden. At the risk of repeating myself, they have done substantially worse than other Scandinavian countries and their stats are moving steadily closer to the UK's.

"Sweden has about 8200 confirmed cases per million people as of 12 August, compared with 1780 in Norway and 2560 in Denmark. (For the UK it is 4600 and the US 15,400.)

Sweden has had 57 deaths per 100,000, compared with five in Norway and 11 in Denmark. (For the UK it is 70 and the US 50.)"

It's way too early to decide which countries won and lost here. It's far from over.

Correct. Its far from over.
All you got is opinions.
And my opinion is that Sweden is way way out in front with regard to getting through this.
Taking everything into perspective.

Or that we have no idea how many cases we've had. Some estimates were we had 20x the recorded cases at the beginning, back when it was nearly impossible to get a Covid-19 test.

You see to be very focused on that particular conspiracy theory.

It's estimated that around 6% of the population have had Covid-19, or about 3.4 million. As of June/July Source

Apparently Sweeden hit around 7.3% in April. Source

So, no lockdown and a larger proportion of the country infected. Who'd have guessed it.

Not sure you have understood what I wrote.

Anyway, are you implying that the UK has had more cases and more deaths per million than Sweden?

Not sure, the numbers aren't clear. Sweeden seems to have had more cases per million than us, but we seem to have had more deaths.

Sweedens lack of lockdown and lighter rules around social distancing do seem to come with greater levels of infection. Somehow they haven't lost as many people to it, which is where the statistics get complex.

As to understanding what you're saying? You think that Boris and co have convinced everyone to make it seem like Covid-19 has killed thousands of people because he wants to retroactively justify lockdown. A remarkably well organised conspiracy for a group that can barely find their own arses with both hands despite having their heads shoved up them already.

You have added to your post since I replied.

Anyway - again.

Exactly.
You missed my sarcasm.

It's hardly a conspiracy theory if the deaths figure proves the opposite, is it?

Plus, you can't even spell Sweden.

He's saying the death figures prove the opposite of what you're saying, and you can't spell Sweden.
You're right, Sweden! I think it's because in my head I use a stupid accent for it that drags out the ee

What do the mortality figures show and how do they differ from what I'm saying? Let's try to be clear, because so far nothing in this thread has been.
