The law doesn't allow falsifying asylum claims.
Is that being done? Any proof, links ?

I thought that was already an offence anyway? Legal people especially must be aware of that.

More dog whistles, attracting the same people . It's all about keeping the Tory faithful on side and nothing to do with attacking the underlying issues.

Sixteen on board so far, 160,000 to go. Hmmm

Still, gets 30p Lee some more votes.

Blup

Yes, see above.
Prosecute them then. Using existing laws.

But the Law Society said the Home Office was focusing on "a tiny minority of lawyers" rather than the "significant backlogs in asylum claims".
The organisation, which represents solicitors in England and Wales, said the necessary powers were already in place to deal with immigration advisers engaged in misconduct

I don't actually disagree with that. If they are milking the system then get on and do something about it. She can't just have found out about it now.
It’s very hard to prove. Unless you get someone under cover.
If they are only following the laws that are in place how would you prosecute them ?

For knowing more than you( I know that's unlikely) or the Government?
they are guiding clients to lie. Either directly or by omission.

e.g. say your a gay Iranian etc .. I’d be surprised if it’s solicitors or council, these law firms work on referrals and it will be some lowly legal exec or telesales type person finding the work. The firm is still accountable as is the supervising partner

Judging by the photos the conditions on that barge are better then on a Royal Navy destroyer. They have a gym, tv, wifi, canteen and can come and go as they please but are advised to return by 2300.

In my book they are doing ok. JV on radio 2 had a text from a single mum, no hot water, no repairs by housing authority, mould etc and asking if she could please have a space on the barge.

They are illegal immigrants, they are not being tortured, or threatened with beheading, they are being accomodated in reasonable conditions. If they dont like it then go back home.

All immigrants should apply in their home country same as the good old USA system.

Prosecute them.

Lowly legal exec or telesales person? Doubt they are in any position to achieve many cases.

If its widespread at any legal office then the legal partners are involved. Stop them from doing any legal work if so
But nothing new is needed.. .

the necessary powers were already in place to deal with immigration advisers engaged in misconduct

Par for the course for lawyers ?

They smell a buck to be made by milking the system

Scheisters

It's like the ambulance chasers. The telesales person writes up the details and guides the client. Lawyer just takes instruction. By the time it gets to anyone who can be done for professional misconduct its several layers away from the person who fabricated the casework.

Who employs the telesales person?

Directly responsible.

Rashid & Rashid in South Wimbledon, Kingswright Solicitors Birmingham, and Lincoln Lawrence in Hounslow were "struck off". Hopefully the files will be passed to the CPS too. I'm sure it's just the tip of the iceberg.

Didn't look like a lowly legal exec or telesales person to me.

Are the existing laws ok to prosecute him?
