All aboard!

"The solicitors and firms in question are Rashid Khan, from Rashid & Rashid, which is based in Wimbledon, south London, Muhammad Ahmad, from Kingswright solicitors in Birmingham and Muhammad Hayat at Lincoln Lawrence solicitors in Hounslow, west London".

Hmmm. I’m not going to say it but I bet you know what I’m thinking.……

these were the stupid/arrogant ones. Yes, but it may be a stretch to pin facilitation on.
As before....

But the Law Society said the Home Office was focusing on "a tiny minority of lawyers" rather than the "significant backlogs in asylum claims".
The organisation, which represents solicitors in England and Wales, said the necessary powers were already in place to deal with immigration advisers engaged in misconduct

Law society thinks powers are already in place.

they are, sec 25a is a very serious offence. But the individual being advised also commits an offence, so he's hardly going to be a witness.

Reported in the Daily Mail.
Iranian Amir, Amir who?
I bet there's a few Iranian refugees called Amir.
Funny how the mail only reported happy cases , while others reported unhappy ones.

Did the mail also mention how they arrived on a plane a year ago, not in boats last week. I bet they forgot that bit.

It’s very hard to prove. Unless you get someone under cover.

they are guiding clients to lie. Either directly or by omission.

e.g. say your a gay Iranian etc .. I’d be surprised if it’s solicitors or council, these law firms work on referrals and it will be some lowly legal exec or telesales type person finding the work. The firm is still accountable as is the supervising partner
Is a gay Iranian being persecuted or simply migrating to the UK in order to, er, practice his lifestyle in safety? Are those grounds for seeking asylum?

when they get it full up they should quietly tow it back down to the coast of Africa and let them all off.

possibly, they may wake up one morning feeling a bit camp, knowing that such thoughts are illegal they need to come to the UK for safety, once here they may realise that 'pride' weekends are not what they quite expected. At this point they may need to request a very large house to accommodate their 3 wives and 18 children (+ grandparents uncles aunts and anyone they know) to come here and join them from where ever it was they hailed.

instead they get waterside views in Dorset. Looks better than a Pontins chalet.

I sort of understand that they don't like the idea of the Barge even if it is better than the hotels. After all they have been sold a lie that they would all get an house with a garden.
It occurs to me this could be a reason why some of them didn't want to get on the barge in the first place.
Some of them would have ptsd from prior experience of crossing the channel in a duck dinghy from Pontins while others wouldn't believe they weren't about to be shipped back to France.

Apparently one or two migrants leaving the barge today for a visit to the local town said it (the barge) was fine. Yes rooms small but good breakfast. They were quickly ushered away by a local charity, who were probably frustrated the migrants didn't say 'it's horrendous!'
"One asylum seeker told the BBC it was like a prison and felt there wasn't enough room to accommodate up to 500 people onboard, as the government plans.
....
"An Afghan asylum seeker, whom the BBC is not identifying, said: "The sound of locks and security checks gives me the feeling of entering Alcatraz prison.
...
"My roommate panicked in the middle of the night and felt like he was drowning. There are people among us who have been given heavy drugs for depression by the doctor here."
...

They are illegal immigrants, they are not being tortured, or threatened with beheading, they are being accomodated in reasonable conditions. If they dont like it then go back home.
There's nothing illegal about claiming asylum.
if they have comitted a criminal offence why does the government not charge them?

All immigrants should apply in their home country same as the good old USA system.
How would that work?
Would they walk into the nearest police station and ask for help?
