I doubt it.
It is nothing more than a sop, rather than address the real issue - personal ownership of guns. But personal gun ownership is sacrosanct.
Being seen to be doing something, while avoiding the elephant in the room.
I fully expect that (at their "induction") incoming presidents are handed set scripts for mass shootings in schools, malls, churches, etc, as they are utterly predictable.
