nonsense - you just have to justify the cost.

66,000 employees. lets say you add another 10,000. How much extra revenue will they bring in?

and lets not confuse illegal tax evasion with legal tax avoidance.

Have to justify the cost?

Well lets start them off with investigating every single Covid Bank Loan and Covid contract. Oh don't want to go there?

I thought motor biking was saying paying out more money than you get in was counter productive.

Without any evidence - using his logic you might as well stop policing, how do we know more police officers will reduce crime?

I don't mind where you go. Just justify the argument that investing more in HMRC would result in a return for the tax payer.

If you don't know, thats fine, if its a gut feel that it would that is fine.

So if you can afford to tax dodge its ok.

You really are a well trained dog. If I need a security pet I will get one in your likeness.

Do you not understand corporate companies run rings round governments, even your beloved EU has trouble laying a glove on them.

So you admit that they are under resourced. They run rings round them because the companies are better resourced.

More staff to carry out compliance checks and inquiries.

The return to the HMRC will be twofold in increase tax take and improved compliance.

How many more? and how much do they collect already through enforcing compliance?

You have to look at them as is if they were sales reps, doubling your sales force doesn't mean you will sell twice as much product.
