It can't be a bad thing because if God gave us free choice, then blaspemy is acceptable, but if God ordained we should all be worshipers, then He(She) wouldn't have invented blasphemy....

Well God/Jesus are quoted as saying ''thou shalt not take the lords name in vain'' so in my mind, if you do believe in God, and the bible, then Blasphemy is wrong as he has told you not to do it.

the problem is, you're trying to make sense out of nonsense. there is no god and blasphemy has no effect because well there is no god to punish you for it. screw god and his crappy saints... see, no lightning bolt as described in the bible.

Good God (and I use the capital G just for the sake of tradition). There can be no such thing as blasphemy as there is no such thing as God.

Mind you, there have been instances of people bad-mouthing Allah and being rubbed out for their trouble.

If your worst nightmare is (for example) being stuck in a nursing home waiting to die, you'll be reincarnated as a 90 year old stuck in a home, only......you won't be allowed to die.....

Sombrero, God did give us free choice. That is the age-old answer to the question, "If there is a God, why does He allow horrible things to happen?"

He gave us free choice to do as we please.

Mind you, fewer horrible things would happen without religion. Think of all the wars or conflicts that would not have been if there were no differences of religious opinion to fight over!
